The complete guide for blueprint development in Unreal 4

I bought this course because it seemed like a fast way to get to grips with the basic Unreal nodes. It does this, but it's very simple. Don't expect it to take you very far as a beginner. If you already have knowledge of coding, then you will be able to adapt the knowledge to suit your needs. However the content is very superficial and there are no downloads. The teacher also has distracting content in the running game that isn't relevant to the course and also says "um" a lot. I wouldn't recommend this as something that you pay money for in its current state. It feels like a chapter 1 in most other Udemy courses I've done on game dev and lacks depth.

Could have been much better if it was planned. In one video he erased all his work half way through and started over. Would have been much better if there was more info on how blueprints work and are organized. More details on what options are available, what makes it unique. More detailed blueprint info instead of videos showing how to add 1+1, and float and bools - all as individual videos.

I took this course because I am a game programming student who wanted to gain a better understanding of UE4. Unfortunately this course fell short of my objectives. The instructor failed to clearly explain the logic behind using blueprint to create content. This was thus a waste of time. Fortunately I have purchased other courses on udemy that will help me meet my academic pursuits. I would encourage anyone reading this to not take this course. There are many other courses on the topic of blueprints that is superior to this course. This was clearly a cash grab.

It just covered the basic ideas of coding. I thought this was more towards working with the basic ideas to flesh-out some better concepts. These can basically all be found on Youtube.

It's a great reference course to programming especially for beginners. I wish it was more complex but I'm still enjoying it!

A very good introduction to UE4. There are have been some major changes in everything from the layout of the editor to the tools themselves

This is most definitely a beginners guide to blueprint programming in Unreal 4. you will have a firm foundation that you can build on it.

this course is the perfect introduction to blueprint. It is too basic for experienced programmers, but it is easy to follow and all the concepts are explained very well. I can highly recommend this book for someone just starting out with blueprint programming in Unreal 4 .

Overall I believe it is a fairly good book. I liked his explanation of Vectors, Iterators and Classes.

This is a very good technical course, not at all for someone who is not already confident with blueprint in Unreal 4.

Course is not complete course. Course not explained properly. Subtitles and what he saying is different. Please add more content.

There just isn't really enough content here. There are 12, 5-minute lectures which I wouldn't describe as "complete guide". Towards the end of the course, he uses "Casting" functions but never detailed what they did. There are points in the course where it seems like he is figuring out what to do, and in a 5-minute video that is a lot of wasted time. He obviously knows his stuff and with more in-depth examples and exercises this course could be great. In its current state, I feel a little aggrieved that I spent the same on this course as i have on other other much more in-depth and detailed courses.

It was a quick, basic understanding of some functions inside blueprints. It was by no means a complete guide as it only covered the bare minimum. I would have liked a bit slower and more in depth explanation with deeper knowledge of blueprints. I found myself having to pause and rewind the video a lot as there was no down time to accomplish the steps that the instructor was accomplishing and he didn't really say what he was clicking some of the time. I thought it was a good course if not a bit misleading. I have two suggestions. The first is slow down a bit and explain everything you are doing and why. A lot of us are new to Unreal and visual scripting in general. Secondly, please don't label a thing as a complete guide if it only covers the basics at best. You got my hard earned money for a not complete guide, under the guise of a complete one. At $10 a pop, you got a lot of money under this misleading title.
