I know that because I have made the transition from GIS to geospatial data science earlier. It took me many years to grapple with different resources and materials for data science without having a tailored Geospatial data science course. That is why I have made this course to help you kickstart your geospatial data science career and learn the basics right.

I have structured the course to be beginner-friendly to make sure a smooth learning experience. I am starting with Python's fundamentals to create an Interactive Geography Trivia (Geo Quiz) and Web-based Geoapplications.

The Tools: We set up your environment quickly with few clicks, so you do not have to worry about missing libraries.

The Basics: Python Syntax and data structures explained in plain language with geography flavoring examples. By the end of this section, you will create a simple command-line game: guess the city.

Geometry: Learn and master the basics of all geospatial python processes - geometry. You will learn Shapely and Fiona libraries for handling geospatial data, and this will give you a low-level understanding of the underpinning of all other high geospatial libraries. By the end of this module, you will create a Tkinter Interface for Guess the Country Game.

Vector data with Geopandas: Learn the most widely used Geospatial library - Geopandas. Open up whole other geospatial functionality on top of the Geometry also using Pandas library, one of the most used data science libraries. By the end of this module, you will undertake a Geospatial Vector analysis project from a real-world job application scenario.

Raster Data with Rasterio: We introduce here the basics of Remote sensing in Python and help you master the ins and outs of satellite imagery processing in Python.

i've read with enthusiasm some medium post of the same author and i was very excited to attend this course. i've attended all the lectures before giving a feedback, completed the two exercises and played around with the code. at the very end, i must admit i've learned something useful. from a total beginner perspective, with the support of this course i've started scratching the surface of this wide and attactive topic. ..but the process could have been doubtlessy easier. imho the author should have put a more careful effort in recording and reviewing lectures contents: there's plenty of typos and errors (some corrected in the videos themselves, some not) and this hinders focusing the attention and moreover wastes time. besides, some additional information and more general overview about each python library design and philosophy (e.g. matplotlib, pandas, fiona, rasterio) could have been helpful. maybe the course itself should have been designed differently, renouncing to be self-contained and thus leaving apart all the python basics, and focusing more on the peculiar topics of geospatial python libraries. Generally speaking, i was expecting something better.I purchased the course for around 15 euros.. Well, at the end, you get what you pay for, so i can't complain.

The key to success in this course is to download the resource files and follow along during the lectures using those files. There is a wealth of code and information in the shared resource files and those alone are well worth your investment. I already had decent background in python and was able to jump straight into sections 6&8 which covered all that I needed. Great resource!

Well, I was expecting at least someone talking through what the video is showing instead need to imagine it based on where the pointer goes.....was so hard install all that trying to follow silent videos....I am very disappointed
