I've take a few digital photography classes but this was a great review of all the important information. Very clearly presented and well organized. Great for beginners and a good refresher

This is one of those courses you can feel good about reviewing over and over. Information is clear and to-the-point. No wading around trying to find that snippet you missed. The instructor gets on with it! And he didn't try to up-sell; very refreshing. This course easily coasts in at FIVE STARS.

Nice recap of fundamentals. Although I think beginners might struggle without more details or examples.

A series of 2 or 3 minutes tips which are laughingly described as lectures. A lecture deals with a subject in depth and is substantial. this was a dissapointing waste of money for a few useful pointers.

I have seen better courses on YouTube that were free. Sorry ! I guess I was expecting more. Steven did do a good job.

Good quick overview of the basics pitched to the beginner. I'd highly recommend following up with Bernie Raffe's Become a Better Photographer I and II, which are well put together and explore these topics in much greater detail. I'd then follow it up with Tim White's (Peachpit press) Digital Photos form Concept to Completion, which is a very good, multi-project based course.

I am struggling with learning...probably because I have to leave my house to take good pics! However, because I don't do it often, some concepts evade me. Steven broke each piece down and explained them thoroughly and then showed several examples.

I have a DSLR and have been experimenting with it for years. I've read its manual, googled photography tips, and bought photography books. Most of the time I was left feeling both confused and intimidated by the technical information I found. Steven's course started with the basics of holding your camera properly and the secrets to great composition. I immediately felt empowered by this simple information. Inspired I picked up my camera and started practicing at my desk as I followed the lessons. He moved on to camera settings in a accessible manner, chunking out the information bit by bit in a highly understandable way. By the time he got to the more technical aspects of ISO and white balance (which has always confused and intimidated me), I felt comfortable enough with my camera and how it works to easily follow what he was saying. This is a great course for the person with a DSLR that she or he never really got around to using outside of the auto setting! Tip: Have your camera available so you can practice at your desk while you learn. Also grab your manual as the settings on Steven's camera may be different from your own :-)

This is an excellent and concise course, it covers most of the fundamentals and technicalities of using an SLR to take great shots. There are some great tips throughout the course and I'm sure my photography will improve dramatically now that I am aware of what to look out for. Thank you Steven.

Nice and relaxed introduction to digital photography, best suited for those starting to use their first DSLR or those not having dared to venture outside their cameras auto-setting.

As with many technical toys, I rarely got a lot from the advanced features of my Canon EOS (slightly older at 2004 but still a great camera). Thanks to Steven's course I will now be able to take a greater variety of pictures by using the knowledge I gained in a very short time. The course is concise and it's easy to repeat/review certain sections, and I highly recommend it.

This course is a great asset for a beginning photographer who is learning how to use a digital SLR camera. The instructor goes step by step through the fundamentals of a good shot to ensure you can take excellent professional photos. It also includes tips and tricks when normal camera accessories are not available or will not work. I practice photography as a hobby and had no idea about the rule of thirds or how all the settings worked, but I am very excited to use them now and see hope they help my photos in the future. I'm a visual learner so I find this course much better than books I've read on photography.
