The examples are not great, the information is very redundant, it would be great if the topics were more summarized and straight to the point. I'm sure it contains some valuable information but for now I haven't learned much.

I loved how straight to the point this course explained everything! The professor is very vivid and very persistent towards helping his students network inside these social media platforms! That means a lot! This course brings so much value but I was also looking forward for more videos coaching independent musicians so that they can keep up creating original music ignoring societies "standards" It's a deep topic that I would love to see in a future so that an original composer can never give up on creating original music and so that original music can be also accepted and monetized in todays living!

I am a good musician, however I don't have much business skills, and appreciate this course very much, which teach me so much great material. You don't know, what you don't know....until you know.

This is very much a course for musicians just starting out, however, Alex Genadinik goes to a lot of trouble trying to cover a lot of marketing topics. He is a good communicator and will reply when you message him which is reassuring. Well done.

I haven't learned anything about marketing or good ways to generate fans like the marketing funnel . Also the interview quality was awful. I was really looking forward to learning some new ways to generate fans :/

Indeed, this was a great course. It was very interesting, and very helpful for me. After years of offering my help my spouse, he finally accepted my help with promoting his music. I have so many ideas, but didnt know where to start from. But now after this course, I feel more confident and looking forward to learning more, on marketing a musican, as I begin this music marketing.. thank you.

Course centers around an interview with a new (or unknown) musician. Neither the musician or the course presenter came across as an authority figure in the area of music marketing. I did give it two stars since there are a few nuggets that may be of use to brand new bands.

This course is interview/lecture style. The moderator interviews a struggling independent musician getting his opinions on how he markets his music. Note the word 'struggling'. Since the artist has met with varying degrees of success, there aren't a lot of take aways here, but there are a few. First, a lot of Indy artists record from home with cheap software and equipment. This is kind of like putting a nice diamond (their song) on an aluminum band. Quality can bother a lot of people and it's so easy to fix. There should be a section on producing quality audio as a prerequisite to your first sale. Second, the fan, and specifically getting that fan onto your email list, is of PARAMOUNT importance. Putting your music out there and getting it heard just doesn't work any more and it's where a lot of indy artists go wrong. Let's take an example: if you signed with a standard label, and you sold 10,000 copies of your song, you'd be in debt to that label and in danger of being dropped by that label. If on the other hand, you had just 1,000 rabid fans on your mailing list, with a couple of well written emails, you could easily sell your album to about 15% of that list (150 fans), putting $1,500.00 in your pocket. (More actually if the marketing is done properly it's more like 40-60% of your list). It can't be stated strongly enough - develop a mailing list of your fans as your FIRST strategy! Third, the sales platform you choose to push your music through makes a huge difference. Popular free sites like Bandcamp are fine for low end beginners, but sites like CDBaby offer a lot more, and are ranked higher by the search engines. You get what you pay for. Overall, the course missed the mark badly and didn't cover MANY vital topics like protecting your music, getting it evaluated for the proper demographic, developing an artist site, and so on. That said, this is really more of an 'ideas' course than anything really useful and there are a couple ideas worth listening to.
