"The Art of Filmmaking" course is the first university level online course in the middle east that teaches both theory and practice of filmmaking, covering the history of cinema, its genres, scriptwriting, and directing.

Exploring the evolution from the experimental and research phases of film to the production phase we are familiar with now in our times. Who are the pioneers of cinema? how did it spread worldwide spanning from France, to Germany, Russia and The United States? The world's response to its birth and the Influence it had on entire continents, and how it changed the course of their history? And vice-versa.

Some different genres of film, what makes them what they are and the influence behind their birth, their characteristics and misconception around them and their nature.

Moving to the fundamentals of scriptwriting and directing:

What are the types of plots and how to identify them. The essentials of scriptwriting and the importance of the script in cinema. How to turn your idea into a script, how to build it up, from idea to story to script to film. The narrative structure, the nature of conflict and questions you should ask yourself while writing. And finally the industry standards for scriptwriting and how to use its guidelines to create our layout of the script, knowing the difference between a story and a script and how we can help it through this transition, shaping the outer layers of the physical script we have on hand.

What is the role of the director? What are his tools used? The types of shots, camera movements, camera angles, and technical aspects like the focal lengths in lenses and how to use them. How to create your own shot list and facilitate your workflow as a director and how you can he manipulate the audience's perception, and how to use them to translate words into moving images.

دورة "فن صناعة الأفلام" هي أول دورة على المستوى الجامعي على الإنترنت في الشرق الأوسط تدرس نظرية وممارسة صناعة الأفلام، وتغطي تاريخ السينما وأنواعها وكتابة السيناريو والإخراج.

استكشاف التطور من المراحل التجريبية والبحثية للفيلم إلى مرحلة الإنتاج التي نعرفها الآن في عصرنا. من هم رواد السينما? كيف انتشرت في جميع أنحاء العالم ممتدة من فرنسا، إلى ألمانيا وروسيا والولايات المتحدة? استجابة العالم لولادتها وتأثيرها على قارات بأكملها, وكيف غيرت مجرى تاريخهم? والعكس بالعكس.
