This presentation and content are not professional, they are amateur in fact. Watching someone basically type and talk about finding answers in the docs teaches next to nothing about the subject and approach - you would be better off just reading the docs. there is also no associated Git repo for the content. Everything about this content was (poorly) cobbled together and not thought through. Avoid as there are many better classes on the subject on Udemy.

First, this course is good. However, the owner of this course never respond to questions. I have asked questions on this course without response. So when the students have challenges on the course, they are on their own. My advise, if you are not interested in students, do not create content. Also, there is no update to this course to keep up with the current trends. So student who buy the course in 2021 is buying outdated content.

I'm not a beginner so the initial information is not useful. I'm here to see examples on how to use Packer with Terraform. It is also good to see how others manage AWS with Terraform.

Instructor is lucid in his explanation about Terraform and Packer, goes over some fair bit of complex use cases with aws. Course content has got a bit old due to faster pace of development in both TF and Packer. High time to come up with additional lecture videos.

Covered all of the basics as expected and does a reasonably good job of doing so. The last couple of chapters were a jump into some rather complex services and architectures that are way beyond anything covered in the previous chapters. I suppose if you are already familiar with Vault, Consul and Kubernetes they would be fairly useful.

No detailed description of how codes are written or how he arrived at some of the short cuts used. Author writes the codes and just runs it. The purpose of buying is to know how the codes works and are generated. and that is not illustrated in any of his videos. There are better youtube videos out there for free...

This is a great course for those who want to learn more about Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Just so you know, this is not for beginners by any means and I did not expect it to be. Since I already know Ansible to do mainly cloud configurations, I needed to learn another tool such as Terraform that does AWS orchestration. Basically, I took this course to learn more about Terraform which gave me a good foundation to take my Terraform skills to another level. I didn't care too much about Packer because I use Ansible to maintain AMIs. But he did cover Packer really well too. Great course !
