The course is good for Begineers.its not an advance level course..The advance calculataion part is not explained in detail..Yet the course is good..the trainer made it very easy to follow and understand..

Hi Udemy Users, This is my 7th course with Vivek on Udemy. He covers the fundamentals of Tableau as a Crash course at the beginning of this course. But where I would say that this course stands out is that Vivek covers some unique topics with respect to Dashboard building that are very rarely covered in other Tableau related courses. The response to Q&A's were too good as all questions were addressed promptly mostly within one hour. Given below are some of the key takeaways (in no specific order) for me from this course: 1. Process of building custom charts e.g: Donut chart, Waterfall chart, Lollipop chart etc. 2. The wireframing process to decide on the Dashboard Layout e.g: Placing the most important object on the Top Left side of the Dashboard etc. 3. Effective usage of Horizontal and Vertical Containers in the Dashboard for better arrangement of sheets 4. Proper Formatting options for Title, Axis Label, Header Label, Sheet, Dashboard etc. 5. Creating a Viz in a tooltip to show further details when we hover over a mark in a Source Chart 6. Alternate method to create the KPI cards using different Placeholders/Marks card in a single Worksheet I consider myself lucky to have found Vivek's Tableau courses on Udemy. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to get a quick overview of the Dashboarding process in Tableau as it will help in the process of building a Data Portfolio, which is a must nowadays for entry-level Data Analysts and Developers !!! I am looking forward to more courses from Vivek on certain Best practices to be followed in the Data Visualization industry, Tips and Tricks in Tableau etc. Regards, Deepak Holla.

Looking for this kind of course for so long and Vivek’s course exceeded my expectations. If you have the overall idea of how Tableau works and are comfortable with the navigation of the tool, this course takes your dashboarding skills to the next level. The reason for giving five stars to this course- (1) Recap of the Tableau: The crash course part is well organized and covered all the key concepts in less than one hour. (2) Dashboard Projects: Most of the tableau courses follow the ‘Super store’ data set and teaches the very standard charts like line, bar, map etc those are available in ‘Show me’ template. But, this course teaches how to build the charts like Donut (need dual axis skills), Lollipop chart, KPI text cards, etc by using datasets downloaded from various other sources and gives the feeling of ‘Real time’ projects. (3) Use of containers in Dashboards: This is the best part of the course. It teaches you how to plan to design before you start ‘drag and drop’ of the sheets into the Dashboard sheet. It takes a bit of practice to fully understand and use of the containers, but it is worth to spend time so that the final layout is in your control and not at the mercy of the Tableau’s default ‘Tiled’ view. If you don’t know how to use containers, it is very difficult to make modifications if you want to do them in the future. (4) Q&A: Vivek responded quickly to all of my questions. Most of them are answered within one hour even though 24 hours is the acceptable time frame for MOOC courses. (5) Instructor’s communication and teaching skills: Vivek got great command on the subject and his communication skills are great. Looking forward to more courses from Vivek on Tableau’s tips and tricks, best practices etc.
