Description

Welcome to 'Probability and Statistics;Psychology and Business statistics'. This course is ideal for those attempting to understand psychology statistics or business statistics.

My statistics course is ideal for those studying on their own, or if you are in a statistics class and struggling with your assigned textbook or lecture material. I know stats courses can be boring, so I try to make it as exciting as possible.

The examples have a psychology bend, but this course is absolutely relevant for business students, especially those in data analysis that have to get a better understanding of statistical tests and the fundamental concepts. So welcome to you whether you are in business or psychology.

I provide examples within the lessons, so this should cut down your study time. Furthermore, I make sure that students understand the links between the different lessons. This helps you understand the bigger picture, and it also tends to decrease study time as you aren't stuck wondering "how does this all come together"?

Be able to distinguish between key statistical concepts and procedures

What's the difference between a sample and a population? Why do we test effect size after we get a significant result? What is a significant result? What's the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 errors? What role does probability play in bridging population and samples?

Choose the appropriate hypothesis test based on given information and make statistical inferences!

  • T-test (independent and repeated measures)

  • ANOVA (independent and repeated measures)

  • correlation (using the Pearson correlation)

  • linear regression

  • chi-square

Calculate t-tests, ANOVA, correlation, linear regression... correctly and confidently

You will get clear instructions on how to calculate each of the tests. When you finish you will have the ability to calculate each test correctly and confidently.

Be able to break down each formula and explain its individual components

Understanding how to plug numbers and use formulas is important, but as important is to be able to understand what we are measuring. I'll break down the individual components of formulas/equations.

Contents and Overview

The course offers 3.5 hours or so of content. The 3.5 hours is sort of deceptive as I've tried to pack each second with something relevant and something important. I've made the course in a way to not waste your time and almost everything that is said in the lectures/lessons has a purpose.

Enroll today! Probability and Statistics;Psychology and Business statistics will make you comfortable to use stats if you are in the fields of psychology and business.

Was clear and well explained until the Test Statistics section. The Test Statistic section is rushed, unclear, and seems to be assuming you have learned all these concepts before. The way the formulas are presented is extremely confusing and the examples only make it harder to understand. If you are looking for explanations on basic ideas (not tests) of stats, this is a good series however, if you are looking for a deeper dive into statistical testing, I do not recommend.

As a math major, I'm a bit dissatisfied with the treatment of some of the topics. For instance, I spent awhile trying to understand why the standard error formula is what it is

The way the instructor explains each concept is very clear and easy to understand even for someone who has never studied statistics before. Thank you!

I have taken undergraduate level statistics and needed to pass a statistics exam for a masters degree. this course is filling in all the gaps that my undergraduate professors left! Thank you so much :)

The course helped me to brush my knowledge on Psychological Statistics. The explanations were very clear and simple. Although I wish there was a bit more information on variations and deviations of the data, the information provided in the course was good for a beginner to get a grip on statistical techniques.

The course starts well but from section 6 onwards it becomes very unclear with a lack of clear building block step by step examples and explanation. You need to rework probability and samples.

I am 52 and going back to school. I took Statistics 20 years ago and need to bone up on the information provided in this course.

It could have been far better. Literal meaning of the terminologies was not included in this . More of how to calculate something but why we need to do something was missing .

Początek kursu bardzo dobry, natomiast część dotycząca poszczególnych testów w moim odczuciu posuwa się zbyt szybko do przodu i nie wszystkie elementy testów są dokładnie tłumaczone.

there is a mistake in the linear regression example, the SSX from the correlation example is 98 not 92 as he uses in the regression section. Not major difference but it could trip up people. he also likes to skip steps as in the Chi-square which I find less helpful. it gets worse, in the chi-square independent section he squares negative numbers and gets a negative result, a negative squared yields a positive result.

This course is perfect for psychology statistics! Many examples to help understand how to calculate those testings. And Ermin responds my question in Q&A very quickly. Thank you for this great course!

The material in the first part is explained very clearly. However, I am missing more graphical representations in the second part which makes it difficult for me to understand complex concepts.

I think this course is ok. It is a quick overview of a number of concepts you would learn in an intro to stats course. Sometimes the explanations are not all that great.

very good explanations. I liked the examples however perhaps a few questions for us to complete could be implemented.
