I'm currently searching for a startup role and have been working my butt off get one but I knew I was missing some things. This class has helped me fill that void and I'm confident I'll know land a startup job/internship (I will keep y'all updated). Best of all, it's for a business development role but a lot of this is content can be applied towards other startup roles. Keep up the excellent work Scott.

The reason I like this course is two-fold: (1) Not only does it appeal to those who wish to break into the world of startups with a job, but (2) it also appeals to a consultant like me who is already part of the startup ecosystem and who wants to build out their network of investors and startups to really take their business to the next level. Great stuff, and really well organized. The workbooks and exercises in particular make sure you receive tangible value while still in the process of completing the course.

Scott gives great tactical details with specific instructions and ideas. I had already figured out a lot of this stuff on my own, but I wish I would have taken this course years ago! The information he details in this course does really work. With just a few of the tactics that are in this course I just got my first BD/Sales job at a Start-up.

Scott has a wide range of great content and practical tools to use, which are quick to implement (and I have already achieved good results with!) and easy to follow. His delivery is engaging and well paced, and demonstrates his passion to teach and his industry knowledge. And it's always about focuses on value and tailoring for your customer - seems straightforward but it is a consistent message. A big thank you to Scott from Australia! When I started taking the course I was already on my way to get the BD position. And it happened around 30% completion. It also teaches u lots of stuff for general areas, not just Biz Dev!

I took this course after seeing it pop up on reddit, and I'm glad I did. As a startup founder (night job) and also as someone who is trying to break into my dream day job of social media marketing it is very valuable to hear Scott's tips on de-risking oneself as well as sneaky ways to add value for people involved in the hiring process wherever you are trying to break into. It's also helpful just to see the way that Scott carries himself in his presentation- his personality, diction, and clear examples of the points he makes are really great traits to emulate for any potential startup role. Will definitely be referring back to the extensive notes I took while watching very frequently in my career.

I've gone through several courses on how to approach getting jobs and while many of the better focus on similar themes (providing value first, connecting and nurturing relationships), Scott's course really boils it down and keeps the class effective and actionable. If you're looking to find a Business Development Representative (BDR) role, there's really nothing like learning through one first-hand and honestly, building relationships and adding value - just like a top-performing BDR would. Been dabbling in startups for over 4 years. Inadvertently ended up doing BD for a startup on the side. Everything Scott talks about here coincides with my experiences and learnings. Although my day job is in tech/web consulting (non technical), I want to keep exploring BD and will use the learnings and processes more effectively from this course. Thanks Scott!

If you're looking to break through any job or industry go ahead and start this course. Even though I only had a mild interest in understanding what BD is, I'm glad I completed the modules. Here's my personal feedback: Positives: -The course is easy to understand. -I liked the course work exercises and templates because they encourage action and keep you accountable -The interviews at the end offer great real world feedback which I admit I didn't think would be any help before I watched them. They are worth the time as they sum up and exemplify the ideas behind "patient persistence", "add value before asking for it," and "do the job before you get it." Have a pen and paper ready to take notes on networking which echoed some of Michael Ellsberg's thoughts about adding value in his book "The Education of Millionaires." The sections on interviewing was also great because it showed differing techniques besides the usual online process many of us are guilty of gravitating to. The only down side I found was that some of the exercise materials didn't show up properly or were blanked out completely. Not sure if this was the website or my computer, but the material was missing even after I restarted the browser. Also, I was unable to reach bdplaybook.com. Again this could have been user error, but still unable to locate at the time after a Google search. Overall, I had a good experience with this course and recommend it to others. Great work Scott.

Scott has a great way of explaining and giving examples of how to break into BD (or really any non-technical role) at a startup. All his tips are simple and effective. I definitely recommend this course to anyone unfamiliar with the startup space, but passionate about getting involved!
