Description

Look around you. Most of what you see was designed by someone. Now think about the soundscapes you have experienced today. The odds are, most of them have been accidental and unpleasant. Sound profoundly affects every area of our lives, from our health to our productivity.

The word 'soundscape' was coined by the Canadian composer and author Murray Schafer. Schafer used the word to describe all of the sound around us. 'Soundscaping', the verb, describes the process of consciously designing that sound; taking responsibility for it and creating sound that is appropriate, effective and intentional. This skill can be applied anywhere; in your home, in your office, in your schools.

My mission is to make the world sound beautiful. I've spoken about this topic on the TED stage in my talk Why architects need to use their ears. As founder of The Sound Agency, my company works with some of the world's biggest brands to increase their sales and customer satisfaction by improving the way they sound. Now I share this knowledge with you to help you master the art of soundscaping.

Riveting material. This reinforced my natural inclination to recognize and modify the sensory input from sounds in my environment.

wonderful presentation. It is amazing how impactful sound is on our lives, yet not even considered from moment to moment how it is effecting our lives. I appreciate learning how sound is structured and then how we as human beings absorb it.

I've come to realize that I've always been sensitive to sound. I enjoyed learning about all the things that I really didn't pay attention to until now. I am interested in getting in-ear communication devices. Thank You for this information.

Matched me perfectly, more aware of the significance on all types of sound, having the choice to voice up or leave. Overall great for my journey on personal development. My vision seems more clear in terms of my choice of surroundings.

I have completed all three courses by Professor Julian Treasure and love each one of them. He is very informative, uses appropriate/understanding language, tone, and gestures. I learned a lot personally and professionally. I wish he taught more courses on Udemy. Thank you Professor Treasure. Best wishes.

I found that Section 5 contained visual material that is not part of the solution I want to be involved in. Therefore, I did not complete the course and unenrolled from the course.

I was blown away by all this important information about how sound impacts us all so greatly. I totally believe it, because I am very particular about sounds, music and noise level. Now I have a solid understanding as to why I feel the way I do, and how I can improve the environment around me.

The ideas were presented clearly, with opportune examples, making the speaker's vast experience accessible to non-experts. I would recommend this training to architects, business managers, educators, hospital administrators, restaurant owners and musicians.
