What you will learn

Learn the systematic “best practices” processes for creating robust CAD models.

Create robust CAD models that can be easily modifiable without breaking.

If everyone in a company models using this systematic strategy, engineering firms can save time & money.

Distinguish yourself from other SolidWorks CAD designers with our defined set of rules & best practices for creating robust CAD models.

Why take this course?

Resilient CAD Modeling (RCM)

-WHAT IT IS? A systematic “best practices” process for creating robust CAD models.

-WHY SHOULD WE USE IT? Make CAD model modifications without the model “blowing up.” Coworkers benefit because if an employee leaves a company, the next employee can pick up right where the original author of the CAD model left off with minimal time getting up to speed and understanding how the model was originally created. This saves engineering companies time and money.

-Spend less time fixing your CAD, and more time designing your product.

-CAD less likely to break

-Standard rules the whole team understands & follows (makes inheriting others’ models easier, improves collaboration)

-Design intent at a glance (convenient, and promotes “seeing” in 3D)

-Order leads to productivity, compounding affects

I stress that you need no prior experience and there is nothing to buy or pay for!!! You will only need SOLIDWORKS itself.

Why our course?!

  • Learn from the best, your instructor, Rafael Testai.

  • Have all your questions answered by experts in the course forum.

  • Get access to an exclusive students SOLIDWORKS community.

  • We are following the learning by doing approach which is proven the best for learning software like SOLIDWORKS.

  • We have enlarged the interface icons in our screencasts to make our videos more eye-friendly. We even used a circular highlighting tool so it's easier to follow the mouse.

  • We made our videos short and concentrated on one or a few aspects to make them easier for reference. We also designed each lecture to be a stand-alone lecture.

You will learn:

  • Introduction to Resilient CAD Modeling (RCM) using SOLIDWORKS interface.

  • The 8 groups that make up RCM.

  • How to overcome the main obstacles students face when learning RCM.

  • RCM Lite, you don't have to learn all the bells and whistles. We distilled it for you into RCM Lite.

  • The logic behind RCM.

  • Master Modeling introduction in SOLIDWORKS (advanced)

  • Converting entities, hiding sketches, and more pro tips that instructors often overlook.

I have an intermediate knowledge on CAD modeling and my feature tree will always be too big or will be in a big cluster. This course taught me how to reduce the size of feature tree and which will let me solve the problem in a easier way than before.

Pretty Great. I was interested in how RCM worked but found the original site kind of confusing. I'd be interested in knowing a little more about his top down method. How the items are recombined in an assembly. I would also have appreciated having the models uploading to explore in more detail.

No notes, practice models given, examples covered are way less. Content could have been little detailed and longer. Otherwise, useful cad modelling technique.

Not so much a class, as a single presentation broken into multiple parts. However, the methodology and ideas are invaluable. You do have to have a good foundation of Solidworks and its foundational practices though, this is not for beginners. Although I took pages of notes, like many reviews have stated, I wish there was some downloadable documentation, especially the "cheat sheet." My other wish would be some more hands-on lessons using the methodology presented.

Interesting ideas and strategy. In my company we do a lot of large assemblies. I'm not sure how often I can apply this, since we're not modeling parts, but I'm sure I can get it into practice at some point.

Although the course is well-presented, there are no additional resources / material (i.e. a Cheat Sheet and some more in-depth notes) provided that I think would be helpful in the delivery of the course. Concrete, worked examples / case studies should definitely be worked into the course to provide the learner with a better understanding of the material. I definitely can see the benefits of this approach in designing though.

The Resilient CAD Technique course is very instructive. An effective methodology to focus on the Product Design rather than to loose time and energy on CAD software Tools and Applications.

In general, It is a good course. Could be better if more example is provided and apply the RCM. No PDF file for the 8 groups mensioned.

Wow. That was a clear and very organized course. I actually did not think at the beginning that I would be capable of comprehend all that. But now at the end it all makes sense and I really just want to try it out on one of my models. Thanks.

Instructor is very knowledgeable . Though I'd liked to see similar topics c grouped together into a single section, which would feel less dauting to go through then say 15 sections, each with just one or two videos

Such a thorough and clearly explained course. It covers more than enough needed by a beginner to begin using SOLIDWORKS effectively.

The lecturer seems so sure about what to do for us to understand easily. I feel his confident i and in that case i felt confident too

Great course, RCM has already changed how I go about modeling! Minimizing model breaks, and the long sigh that follows as the feature tree turns red with things you have to redo before moving on to the next important model update. Improves productivity, especially as the project goes into the fine-tuning phase, helps keep the focus on improving the model/assembly as a whole quickly instead of getting buried in a single part for long periods and having to refer back to notes to remember the next task at hand.
