☑ At the end of my course students will be able to recognize and create artistic 2D shapes and patterns. These 2D sketches will form the foundation for the follow-up class that introduces students to 3D artistic Mechanical design.
This curriculum will open your eyes to a new world of amazing patterns, shapes & artistic designs. In effect this introduction to STEM is a collision of art, engineering & math. The format is open ended, creative & challenging; a practical, easy to follow cookbook approach to developing spatial thinking. You are free to work at your own pace, improving your skills independently of classroom pressures. To create 3D printed parts you need to be able to create 3D parts. To create 3D parts you need to know how to create 2D sketches. This class teaches you how to create 2D sketches from an artistic angle. The Siemens Solid Edge software download is free to all students and is similar to Solidworks, Blender and Autodesk Inventor.

As a beginner I'm enjoying this course .Really awesome teaching .Goes through each topic clearly .I would recommend this to beginners
i expected all the 2D drafting tools you used in this course ,but you only concentrated on the rotation and line eclipse command only.yeah thanks i learned lots of things in rotations and how to make a pattern deigns.once again thank you for free teaching
A little bit basic to start with - but not too bad; good to jog the memory, and fun once you get into it!
Although the course is STEM-themed and mainly aimed towards students, as a SolidWorks professional, I found this course the perfect introductory course to explore the baby steps to get into SolidEdge's sketching interfaces and tools. For any CAD module, mastery of sketching is a foundational skill. Gonna check out the other courses as well.
Very good at the detail. Unfortunately I am having a hard time getting my Solid Edge set up like the instructional video...
Yes the course is excellent for a beginner like me. Though the menus on my 2019 Solid Edge academic edition are different I could still play around to get along with the course.
I am a little disappointed in that I cannot open the course files on the business license for Solid Edge. Makes no sense to me. But then again that is why I am taking this course, because I am new to Solid Edge and am trying to better myself. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing this knowledge! This is a great way to start developing your skills in this craft.
Cannot access the track #5. But the rest of the training is going really good! Lots of new techniques to learn for 2D, which I see value in the establishing of knowledge around relationships.
I've expected more serious stuff. It's lots of circles, rectangles and lines, combined in funny pictures (imho, you don't need SolidEdge for that). Splines are not even mentioned so far :(
