Why take this course?

This is a Corporate course for Business, Government and Not for Profits on how to WRITE A social media strategy:

Many Marketing and Public Relations professionals in large organisations such as Government Departments and Corporates want more structure than simply competitions and promotions on Facebook & Twitter and broadcasting content on LinkedIn. This course will enable you to create a great social media strategy for your own business and your clients that includes: (Don't forget to click HD on the videos!)

  • why your Government Department or Corporate Organisation are on social media & why customers and stakeholders would want to connect with you

  • what social media platforms you (and your stakeholders) should use, and when.

  • how to find and engage with key influencers and bloggers, monitoring and evaluating them

  • creating campaigns from monitoring platforms to measurement

  • a conversation diary and content calendar including an downloadable doc.

  • developing a voice in social & what to say,

  • as well as finding and connecting with target markets  (Customer Avatars) across social platforms

  • and integrating websites and microsites with social.

INCLUDES: A choice of 4 project briefs for you to practice your strategy development on, Homework for each section with a discussion area to ask questions and receive answers.

This course was part of the PRIA (Public Relations Institute of Australia) series of workshops.

Each lecture takes you through a step of the framework with theory, a case study and homework based around a pitch document (brief). This course is invaluable for a public relations or communications professional looking to develop and implement strategies rather than just "run a Facebook Page", those re-entering the workforce or repositioning to take on more social media responsibilities as part of their usual role. Small businesses will find the overall strategy useful to framework their current Facebook and Twitter activities.

Laurel Papworth was named by Forbes Magazine as a Top 50 Social Media Influencer, she has consulted and trained Governments around the world (Parliament House in Canberra, Australia, also Malaysia, Singapore and Saudi Arabia) as well as Corporate social media strategies for Sony, United Nations and banks/financial services.

The steps and guidance that Laurel has provided so far, in this course have made developing a social media strategy so much easier. I find her expertise very valuable, mainly because I work for a national advocacy in housing and engagement looks different for us in the social media space.

Very detailed , very good lecture , perhaps a bit lengthy and tedious , monotonous at times , But I guess this is the case for most courses with a lot of detail and information, I would definitely recommend. Yes please, Laurel, shorter and punchier.

I appreciated Laurel's strategical approach: in the course you don't find only technicalities but a step by step program to build an effective presence on social netwoks.

This course is a fairly good introductory course, for those new to social media marketing. However it is several years behind current social media practices, and other than the second on personas, there is nothing much to learn here that can't be learned by reading free industry blogs.

Laurel's course is great. It's the sort of in-depth course that I was looking for. She's thorough and gives concrete examples for all the concepts she presents. Her expertise and experience is obvious. This is a great course for someone who wants a solid intermediate to advanced knowledge of social media strategy.

Papworth gave me a great deal to think about as I begin to craft a more comprehensive strategy for work. I like how broke needs down into specific tasks and had us assign personalities to who we perceived as our customers/end users.

Course content was detailed and useful Production quality is fine Laurel is delightful to listen too, she had me smiling all the way through. I've been sold Social Media Services into Enterprise companies for over 10 years, yet never implemented the tactical side. This course will teach you more than what the internal Enterprise Marketing Managers know. I highly recommend it.

Great course, thorough, engaging and full of useful tips and advice. Many thanks, really useful for me as a refresher and also to get myself back on track with a decent strategy, rather than my normal throw everything at it approach. Loads of resources included, I now have some useful tools.

I could write a long review, but please just take my word for it that this course is just plain AWESOME. Laurel always overdelivers, explains the subject and know stuff like nobody else, and if there's anything you don't see included, just ASK and she'll do her best to help immediately. ACT NOW only if you want results.

Laurel's strength appears to be not only in explaining the details of social media strategy but also in creating the underlying mindset needed to succeed. I applied some of her methods to my own social media campaign with almost immediate positive results. Thank you Laurel!

There are a million courses about social media - so choose wisely. You could waste hours on many of them - and risk a social media disaster or end up with a Facebook page that only your Grandma has liked (if your lucky!)... OR you can join this course with Laurel (who is fun, friendly and an absolute gem). Laurel is an actual expert in the field, unlike the many others who simply claim to be... Worth every cent and then more. Do yourself a favour - sign up and reach out to Laurel in person if you have any questions about social media.
