I'll explain how we often get it wrong without realising. There are certain actions and activities that will always work to keep insomnia firmly wedged in your life. In this section, we’ll begin shaking loose all these destructive influences, eliminating all those things that keep your insomnia locked into your life. I’ll expose some of the myths you may currently believe about sleep and overcoming insomnia. I'll also explain exactly why nothing seems to work and that sleeping pills, far from helping you to overcome insomnia, often just make the problem worse. And most importantly, I’ll show you how to begin setting things right.

3. PUTTING THING RIGHT – The course really begins to kick off with this powerful and motivating lesson. I'll explain that good sleep is not something we make happen while lying in bed. You'll learn that rather than focusing on the bad night itself, we should be more concerned with everything that has led up to it. In this way, when bedtime approaches you will be in the perfect state for sleep to occur. Parts 1&2 longwinded. Part 3 seems mire relevant. Video problem was probably due to my internet. İ find worksheets hard to locate.

This definitely worked for me! I have literally spent thousands visiting Doctors, sleep clinics etc and nothing worked. The sleep clinic tells you to practice sleep hygiene but does not give you much help to actually put it into practice. I listened to the tapes in this course over and over, especially on nights I could not sleep and felt anxiety creeping in. The first week was the hardest but I was fortunately able to stay at home so managed to get through it, I was literally not sleeping at all but did not even reduce my sleeping tabs, I just cut them out completely from day one. After about 2 weeks I had a breakthrough and slept from 10.30 pm to 5am, with one wake up at about 12pm, but then fell asleep again!!! I could not believe it. That was the night I realized I COULD sleep without tabs. I was disappointed the next few nights as it did not happen again but I kept going and listened again to the 12 promises. After the first week on this course my anxiety was literally GONE. If I cant sleep, I just get up and watch TV. I dont watch anything stressful, I have a cup of herbal tea and go back to bed after an hour or so. I am now one month into the course and I am sleeping. I dont sleep right through the night, I wake up a few times, but I AM SLEEPING. I do have the odd "bad" night where I still have to get up, but the last 3 nights I have not had to get out of bed at all. I honestly can say this course has saved my life. I really thought I was going crazy as the sleeping pills were not working. I am now exhausted by 9pm and most nights now fall asleep within half an hour. I cannot recommend this course enough.

Finally someone who understands me!! Also, I use audiobooks a lot to help me sleep and I find it really difficult to find a combination of a good author and a good narrator. Often I find that authors are not the best narrators. However, This narrators voice is soothing, empathetic and perfect to fall asleep to!

The thing I liked about this course is it puts you very much in control of your life. It’s so reassuring for someone to tell me I’m not broken and there is a way out. I’ve suffered with insomnia on and off for all my life; often I’m unable to fall asleep and sometimes wake up with what the course calls ‘sleep maintenance insomnia’. It’s not a quick fix. You’ve got to keep watching because the best bits are in the second half but I think it would be a mistake to miss any of the chapters. This is far better than the usual insomnia videos that try to cure you by boring you to sleep. It’s quite personal and the video is much more interesting than watching a boring doctor in a white coat drone on in front of a whiteboard. I listened to this all the way through and although its only been a few days I already feel far more positive and definitely slept better last night. There’s also quite a lot of additional help at the end of the video and some relaxation MP3s but I haven’t needed them yet.

Can relate to the instructor - knowledgeable and and easy to follow. The basic idea makes a lot of sense: to approach it like learning a skill. Reminds me of advice I got when learning guitar: break it down into small pieces, get a practice routine, take it slow. This doesn't promise an instant fix, no magic pill because you have to take control of your situtation. What this course does is help you to take that control, to cure yourself through application rather than pretending you can just neck some pills and suppress the problem. Your good nights sleep is in your hands, and Ms. Stephens gives you the tools to make it happen.

I haven't yet completed the course, but last night I slept better than I had in years! There's something so engaging about Sasha, almost a feeling of camaraderie with someone who has been there too. Can't wait to plow through the rest of the course and I hope that last night's blissful sleep is just going to be the start.
