Course Topics Overview

MATLAB/SIMULINK is a leading software in Modelling & Simulation that is widely used by Engineers, Programmers,  Researchers, Teachers, and Entrepreneurs.

In this course you will start learning MATLAB/SIMULINK :

  1. By understanding the different types of Modelling & Simulation.

  2. You will learn how to do the mathematical modelling of some systems like Mechanical, Hydraulic & Electrical.

  3. After that you will learn how to draw the block diagram for any system.

  4. You will learn how to use MATLAB/SIMULINK starting from the beginning until reaching to a confident point. (Mastering Point)

  5. Then you will learn advanced techniques in Modelling & Simulation of some applications from real life for example Modelling and Simulation of the Vehicle Suspension System, DC Servo Motor & Tank Level Control. You will enhance your skills in MATLAB/SIMULINK as well as your problem solving abilities.

You will also understand the difference between Continuous and Discreet Systems and you will learn how to Design & Simulate Finite State Machines by using stateflow which is a powerful tool in building some systems like for example:

  1. Traffic Light Systems

  2. Car Lane Change Signal

  3. Mp3 Player Software

Complete the course lectures, examples, quizzes and assignments in MATLAB/SIMULINK and you will be able to distinguish your self as a Model Based Design Engineer.

As you can guess, you won't master Matlab/Simulink in a 4 hour class. This is basically all Simulink, and you still can't master it in 4 hours. So the title oversells it. The bigger issue is that this class uses a lot of its time covering engineering instead of how to use Simulink. It's helpful seeing someone make a model in Simulink, but the class should be spending about a minute informing the student that "This is the mathematical model of this physical system" and not go into explaining, nor developing, Laplace transforms, teaching about PID controllers, etc. Overall, it has far too little Simulink (Matlab is barely mentioned) instruction to justify the time.

I am getting a chuckle at some of the misspellings. Sorry, and some of the pronunciations like planet for plant.

Highly informative, good for beginner levels. lots of information delivered in a short time making it highly efficient. difficult to understand the words as there is a french accent (guess), audio is low in full volume and captions as well as presentation slides have spelling mistakes. Caption - plucks, he says - blocks, we hear something of the middle, for eg. But the quality of the material is excellent aside the delivery so 4 and a half stars

The great thing about this course is its not just theoretical its all about seeing real applications and try them yourself.

It's hard to understand what the presenter is saying sometimes. For example instead of "Scope", the presenter says, "Scoop". In a technical field it is important to distinguish things by their actual names, as there could be other components/processes defined by the mispronounced word.

The course is very condensed, but it is something to be expected when purchasing a 4 hours course. The major problems with this course are the generated subtitles: the teacher is a native Russian speaker and speaks with a strong accent, which makes him very difficult to understand. Even the subtitles often display wrong words and in some cases I had to listen the same sentence again and again in order to properly understand every word. In addition he doesn' t answer the questions. In conclusion I don' t advise this course, especially if has to be purchased at full price.

The information this course has is good but, it needs someone to arrange it in such a way that it makes sense. For instance, Section 3 should be section 2 and in section 4, 4.1 should be around 37-38, you can not start a chapter like this.

Need to mention which trial modules are required to download in simulink for this course. as beginner, i am unable to identify which toolboxes are required, matlab has multiple toolboxes which we are not able to understand yet. We cannot download all toolboxes in trial. The tank module explanation was very unclear. Servo motor explanation is good

Overall explanation good explanation provided. However, I wish this course would have been more rigorous that include models from hydraulic, electronic. Also, I wish we could have more assignments to do. Moreover, there should be one session giving overview or brief on various functions form the library.

Course was really good. I learnt a lot from it. Only one thing is that I was expecting some more details of Simulink environment setup and all the settings options explained too. Thanks.

- Yes but too much basics of simulink are added, It should be expected that the user knows basics of matlab and simulink before taking this class. - In Stateflow you should update the procedure to define variables

Very systematic approach towards explanation of models and theory behind it. Although it was slightly confusing at times because of the accent.

Course was good. Maybe, some more basic information regarding Simulink simulations could be added: Solver settings (simulation step time). I sometimes went back some seconds to hear again, because I did not understand some words immediately.
