What you will learn

Student and Engineers Can learn How to program Siemens PLC using SCL Language

Why take this course?

Hello Student,

In this course I have tried to explain Siemens PLC's Programming language Called SCL(Structure control language). For creating programming tutorial I have used TIA PORTAL programming Software.

We know some Programming Language for Siemens PLC programming Languages Like LAD,FBD,STL and SCL.

Among them Every Language has its own Benefit.

The SCL language is very powerful and well suited for complex math operations, data handling with arrays and string processing. SCL is a high-level text based language that is easy to understand, yet provides many benefits over traditional ladder programming. This Course will provide the foundation for you to start programming in SCL.I have tried to Explain Every Single Instruction in Easy Understanding Way.

Nowadays Programmers are using structural language so that they can make logic easy to find issue as well as complex task in simple way.

SCL provides you the same programming manner as other languages provide like FBD,LAD etc.

Here also you can use FC,FB,DB, OB.

Same way you can call SFB and ready made block as you call in STL and LAD.

In this Course I have also used Factory IO. So that you can understand practical used of SCL with real example of Factory IO.

I have shared some program which is possible to share.

Too much time is spent on explaining the math used in the instruction and quite less on how instruction is to be used.

Good lesson with appropriate example. Kudos to the hardwork behind the preparation of the videos. Except the background noise and the voice the tutorial is standard and easy to follow as a beginner

Good course for beginners to SCL programming! The sound on the videos has room for improvement, it had a lot of background noise. The last videos had a good explanation on how to use SCL with factory-io. I think a more detailed/structured use of the available SCL functions would make this course much better. Most programming is IF-statements only, this gets messy and very hard to troubleshoot.

Good the section on factory simulation. Bad software design. Too much simple code examples. In the examples many tools are used where they can be easily replaced by code, and the teacher do not explain why I should or should-not use those tools. Too much time spent to explain too simple statement (If-then-else-switch, while-loop, until-loop....)

Yes, it is a good match. I understand Ladder logic very well, but, I want to learn SCL to take advantage of the language to get the most out of my programming experience. I know there are features of SCL I can take advantage of that I cannot duplicate with Ladder Logic.

I understand that SCL is not a preferred programming language amongst the PLC programmers, however It is a more powerful and easier to work with for user with a high programming language experience. I am in that category and I know Pascal. I follow the leaning course part 1 with a lot of interest, but got very disappointed that the presenter or who ever is responsible for structuring the course failed to and missed out on demonstrating a most important aspect of programming in any language and for whatever the program is about; A PROGRAM FUNCTIONA FLOW. In any programming language, statements, procedures and function are there to build the program structure organized in the program flow. In this course the start of the program the main block Main (OB1) was overlook or ignored. What was presented was a use of LAD block with network 1 calling the function (FC1). Why using LAD OB instead of SCL OB? Furter in the course a function MHJ-PLC-Lab-Function-S7-1500 was used without a definition and explanation. I am very disappointed with this course and would not recommending it. Regards, Alex Seger

Esposizione molto chiara. Questo corso è molto adatto per i principianti. Perciò per chi non conosce l'SCL è un ottimo corso.

Content of the course is good. I did learned from this and will help me in the future, Only reason I give it 4/5 is the sound quality in some of the videos i find it difficult to hear

Each topic is not properly explored. Some points are covered in a topic while others are not even acknowledged and then next topic begins.

Hum, I'm used to work with TIA portal (in lOG and GRAPH) and it isn't very reassuring to see that small mistakes were made. And the back noise aren't nice

SCL tutorial is not enough. this course is not evaluated with field experience so we only read the tia portal help document during the courses:((

a dedicated course for scl & the instructor is responsive , but it should be completed by setting different communication types ( profibus / profinet / modbus/ opc ) using scl

The functions the teacher are making work and I'm learning, but I would like to have a better explanation of the goal we try to achieve on each video. Also most of the examples are not useful for a real case scenario. If you have previous knowledge is kind of basic, and if you don't have any knowledge, you won't get it because the there are a few important previous things never explained

Very good course, lots of great information, knowledgeable instructor...My rating would be higher but some videos have too much background noise, very distracting...
