Selling Design Services For A Living - Method and Case Study

It's a course about creating recordings and videos, with emphasis on quality, however the quality of his recordings leaves a lot to be desired. For example, in the opening video Howard searches and searches for an example of the type of job he says you can get, but can't find any! Why did he not rehearse and be able to show actual examples. Several of the recordings end abruptly, while he is still talking. Nothing was rehearsed or practiced, everything was recorded on a 'first take' (I don't know this for sure, but it's the only reason I can imagine for so many errors) It's a sad example of someone making a Udemy course, just to get another Udemy course under his belt. It's not terribly expensive, so for novice there may be value in the information, but be warned, in the short hour it's primarily about the tools to use and offers very little in content about actual product. In one of the final videos it shows his most recent income and it's not going to buy him a very good lunch each day.... And the final comment, please Howard stop constantly moving the mouse around and constantly scrolling pages rapidly up and down, it is utterly annoying and distracting for the viewer.

I wasn't happy with the course because it says in the title ( Selling Design Services For A Living ) but then it only focused on video and not all video like how to edit content different cameras it just focused on Screen recording. He tells you in the begging that there are to many to cover and that was understandable however this course is not for the graphic design. It gives the view from one perspective. The course also touches on ebooks which he doesn't do but talks about. I had a hard time hanging in with this course and strongly hope he changes the title it is very miss leading for those of use that are in design. Sorry I don't like to give a bad review but people who buy looking to help there design career will be upset because it will not help real designers.

I learned so much. I took a ton of notes, which I usually do not do with Udemy courses, but there is so much useful information here, I couldn't just rely on my great memory!

The course is set out in a logical, easy to follow manner. The information contained seems sensible and with a little application should work for most people.

I liked this training course because it’s an over the shoulder presentation style which I prefer over the slides only based screen casts. The course was easy to go through quickly and the content was good enough to warrant 5 stars from me but I do expect that it will probably get added to over time.

...it seemed disjointed and rushed to market. Appeared to me parts of other training was used to fill particular topics.

This course is good for anyone who is looking for ideas of what to sell as a service. Also the explanation of the resource options is very indepth. However, I personally feel that there is not much explanation of how to fulfil the services, if you have never done anything like this before., especially the videos. As long as you keep this in mind, then you should give this a look.
