Security Awareness Training is a course that everyone can benefit from. This course will discuss security and privacy in regard to our personal devices, the passwords we use, phishing attacks and suspicious URLs, social engineering, data leakage, and some general tips for staying safe online. These topics are relevant today and are incredibly important to protect yourself and your data. We have all seen the stats and watched the news. Attacks, especially ransomware, are on the rise and we need to make sure we're staying safe and secure. It all starts with learning the basics, which is what this course is about.

This course is offered at a basic level and it is not a technical course. Anyone who wants to learn more about security and privacy will benefit from taking this course. You don't need to be a computer science major to take this! The course is taught mostly through video and there are quizzes at the end of each section. The video portion of the course is around 2 hours and the whole course should take around 3 hours to complete. I'll always be around to answer any questions you have!

There was a comment about following a link when conversing with the the business/organization, but since this comes before the social engineering section it may be worth calling out potential impersonators in this section.

This module would be more valuable if it showed a cursor hovering over a link and also over a url, showing that sometimes the real link or url may be inconsistent with what you are expecting. Show what the screen may look like instead of simply talking about it. Please review your information so that you know with 100% certainty if you are providing current information. For example, easy access to generative AI probably makes song lyrics a poor choice for a pw, even if the text string is 72 characters. Copying a url into Notepad may not be safe -- please check the latest information and ensure that the act of copying the url does not activate the scammer's program.

Generic information and a course that could last half of the time. Each lesson should be going directly to the point... instead of giving so much statistics and figures not so relevant for the learning.

As someone who doesn't work specifically/entirely in security, but in sys admin type stuff where I'm expected to know security at a relatively high level, its rare security awareness trainings actually teach me something. The real life scenarios where you know if your password is being hashed isn't something I really connected the dots on before, even though I knew the underlying stuff - thanks!

plenty of good info, i am pleased that we are offered this learning experience, and hope to learn more from the instructor, Dr. B, who makes this interesting instead of boring, and uses layman's terms, which make the training even better, because i am not techy. the TV remote had 2 buttons when i was a child. i like to learn something new all the time, and Dr. B is becoming a catalyst to the improvement of my TECH and antiHACKER skills
