Security of Web Applications

Secure Programming Patterns

Security Baselines

Why take this course?

Understand Application Security: Numerous successful attacks on well-known web applications on a weekly basis should be reason enough to study the background of "Web Application Security" of custom-made or self-developed applications.

Computer systems are ubiquitous and part of our working and private everyday life. For companies it is increasingly complex and difficult to keep up their IT security with the current technical progress. Large enterprises establish security processes which are created according to industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001). These processes are very complex and can only be implemented by teams of security experts. Constant quality assurance, maintenance and adaptation also belong to an IT security process.

It does not matter if a company develops products or runs an online shop, IT security is a characteristic feature. Security incidents, which maybe even reach public uncontrolled, do not only damage the business image but may also lead to legal or financial consequences.

Could come up with more off the cuff responses instead of reading everything that is written on the slides.

It was basic coruse but provided some basic information and that a developer should keep in mind while making comples applications.

The quiz was very ambiguous in terms of "whats the biggest impact for sec flaws". I would argue that information disclosure can have very profound impact depending on where you work

As others have said, it's like reading a book with a monotonous tone. Not engaging, poorly explained.

The slides do not have good visual content. The tutor kept reading the slides throughout the course. From me I expected more examples related to codes.

Presenter spoke clearly and slow enough to digest information. The slides are a good source to pause video and take moments to review context that may have been skimmed over and not processed by the brain.

Good overview on the main vulnerabilities, much taken from other places but a good refresher. Would be nice to see a follow up course as to solutions to the main threats.

The instructor was able to pass the knowledge in simple terms. Though it feels as if one is just viewing a drabby Powerpoint presentation on a white background, but he made his point known nonetheless. Inclusion of quizzes would also help to confirm that the student understands what is being taught. Though, all in all, it's still a good one.

Content was ok, but the way to teach was horrible. Slides full of text which was read by tutor word by word.

Frank is an excellent teacher. I been following him online and on other platforms as I see this SPOT ON course. This course will teach developers such as myself and you ;) how to protect ourselves from potential hacks to our sites. This course is really relevant wither you are a freelancer or part of a corporate team. Thank you Frank for standing for the little guy :)
