Excellent course, by far the most effective chess teacher, going through the course helped my keep my chess brain sharp, Though the course is not an openings course, I have built my repertoire around my favorite opening courses from Greg Vanderford. Additional thoughts are with E4 as my main weapon as white, Greg teaches me how to play the Spanish, Open Sicilian as white, and the best moves against the French defense. That covers 3 of the most popular responses to E4, really desire to have this same opening knowledge against other responses like the Caro Kann, Petroff, Philidor, Scandinavian, Alekine. These are less played, but would hate to play against these in a tournament and not be prepared.

The course is short and is based on the lecturer’s opinion and engine analysis of his own games. Chess engines are not perfect. The course is expensive compared to other better produced and more information rich course on Udemy. Udemy has courses prepared and presented by FIDE titled masters that are more comprehensive than this one. That’s not a dig at this ‘dude’s’ rating or this course; it’s fact. Just because his rating is reasonable doesn’t mean his depth of knowledge and OTB experience is high. He obviously chose the content for the course in order to give the buyer what he claimed is offered. In short; he does what he said he would do. He’s not ripping anyone off but I’m glad I got the course when it was reduced in price because there’s a lot of good stuff out there on the internet for a lot cheaper than the full price of this course. It’s an OK insight into playing short games of chess against the clock and it’s expected that mistakes will be made when playing this style of chess because it’s hard to play. Chess is a hard game to play. It’s your money. The beauty of Udemy is you can access the course when you want. This just may be exactly what you are after. I enjoyed it because I got it at a price I was happy with.
