Why take this course?

The Scrum Product Owner Certified (SPOC) course teaches the project and product managers on how to maximize the return on investment (ROI) and optimize the total cost of ownership (TCO) of products and systems. The course enables the students to work in an agile environment and main focus on the product requirements to manage the product outcome. This course prepares the candidates to use such tools that help the product managers to translate requirements to the development team to achieve the optimum results. The course also covers the user stories, ordering and organizing strategies, and product backlog refining. The course helps the product owners to develop a concrete understanding of everything that drives value from their products and this knowledge derives from early stakeholder management to release planning and delivery.

This course is based on the practical training and real world techniques that the candidates can implement immediately at their workplace. The students are able to gain a better understanding of all of the advantages Scrum has to offer specifically in product development. Hands-on exercises demonstrate key concepts and let the students experience the benefits of Scrum.

As a PO that has been informally working with a Scrum team for two years now, this course has clarified and reinforced the methods and practices I have been using to provide my team with prioritization and context for our development projects.

Too much talk about what we will learn. The course does not provide any practical knowledge to become a good product owner. Waste of time and money.

Could be better. Valuable as a secondary crash course - other courses are better and more engaging. Content is somewhat old and out of date (based on older(?) ScrumStudy.com and not Scrum.org latest Scrum Guide) but has enough value to make it worth it as a secondary resource. Some quiz questions out of date, incorrect versus modern Scrum.org Scrum Guide policy, or simply just incorrect (so don't worry about quizzes). Videos are low value, simply repeating course notes, and mostly do not helpfully expand on the course notes. Odd repeating video content (like section introduction videos seem to be repeated). All downloads should be provided as single zip. Videos should be 1080p (only 720p). Quizzes are spaced too far apart to retain the information properly.

Concerning: Question 1 of Chapter 01 Quiz is not correctly designed. It suggest 3 statements A), B), C). Answer 1 covers all but isn't accepted as a right answer-->This is because that the Answers are "numbered" A), B),C) in the same way the the Statements are "numbered" A), B), C) and therefore causes confusion as after the radio-button the "number" of the Answer gets recognized as part of the suggest set of options.

This course is unfortunately very old fashioned and failed to make me engaged. For each lesson, there is an associated power point slide to it and that's all. The instructor reads the slides and very rarely adds more valuable information to it. At the end of each section, there are quizes. However, you are going to have to find the MOST correct answer. Most of the questions have more than one correct answers and you are asked to find which one is MOST correct. This gets pretty frustrating pretty fast. Overall, I would not recommend this course. There are much better courses avaiable here.

Bought this for product owner insight, instead more than 60% or even 70 generalized agile/scrum basics. Not worth the money

Seems a great theoretical content covered in detail. Would love to have some case studies, demonstrations etc as it feels very much theory on the same voice! PS: Linkedin agile community is not found! and neither the certificate of completion!

Too basic Only title and quiz are about PO The course itself is general overview. And it is quite hard to capture details that it has (transcript would help)

There is no transcript, the lessons are incredibly short and seem "messy!' the course is based upon one or 2 slides! with no interaction

I think that this is a very good supplemental course with a ton of information in it. It doesn't really have much in the way of hands-on exercises and the examples can sometimes be hard to read, but there is excellent discussion that is comprehensive and clear. You will understand the scope of the Product Owner with this course and what they do. I also really like how he chunks the lectures our into bite-sized pieces. I would combine it though with a more hands-on course, but the additional discussion here is very valuable and will add value to whatever course you decide to do that with.
