Unfortunately not. PMI PDUs are obtained for attending a course but not for passing an exam.

Which Product Owner certification to take?

For aspiring or existing Product Owners, the most popular certification is PSPO™ I from Scrum. org. The good part is that there is no expiration date after passing the exam for your PSPO™ I exam.

Scrum .org is a certification and training organization that has focused on teaching Scrum as it was intended to be used. At Scrum .org you can take many Scrum certifications at a relatively affordable price.

An alternative is the CSPO certification from Scrum Alliance.

What is the difference between PSPO and CSPO?

Both exams are based on the Agile principles and the Scrum Guide.

The CSPO certification requires you to take a course from Scrum Alliance. The certification status expires and needs to be renewed.

The PSPO I exam does not require you to take a course from Scrum .org. You could do that, but it is not mandatory. Once you have obtained the certification, you don't need to renew it.

What is the difference between PSM I and PSPO I?

The PSPO™ I certification is relatively similar to another popular certification called PSM™ I. Even if you have passed the PSM™ I exam, it does not mean that the PSPO™ I exam will be the same.

While the focus on the PSM™ I exam has focused on general Scrum rules and the role of the Scrum Master in different situations, the PSPO™ I exam is more focused on the role of the Product Owner in different circumstances and how the Product Owner can maximize value.

Thank you Valentin for wonderful course and your advise. I have passed the PSPO 1 exam with 98.8% , it is definitely harder then PSM 1 exam as questions was lengthy and taking time to read and understand it.
June 3, 2022
I passed the PSPO 1 Exam with 100% score only with this course, practice tests mentioned in the course and followed Valentin's advise. The additional course I took for Scrum Master prior before taking PSPO was with Valentin, was a big help in passing this test too, as the understanding of Scrum is also crucial to pass the PSPO Exam. If you are looking to understand the role of product owner in Scrum or Scrum itself, I highly highly recommend Valentin's courses.

Good course, passed on the first try of the exam. Just follow the advice of the instructor. Do not try to take short cuts! Easy to follow, and good examples
May 27, 2022
I've passed PSPO 1 exam with 98.5%. But I used my phone with Google Translate, which was not very comfortable.
May 26, 2022
Pictorial based / graphical based design course help very much to understand the scrum concept quite easily. Must take course for PSPO/ PSM.
May 24, 2022
This course gives you valuable information in addition to the Scrum For Beginners course. Valentin makes sure the topics are easy to follow and clear to understand. In other words, a really helpful course to get prepared for the PSPO1 exam. After following this course I passed my PSPO1 exam.
May 18, 2022
The course is preparing well for the PSPO I exam if you follow the given instructions. I bought the course before the 2020 update and it was great that the course was updated. The practical exams are helpful. Just to be sure I did buy another course with a set of exam questions however in hindsight I don't think that would have been necessary.
May 16, 2022
I'm moving into the tech space along with coding and wanted to become more familiar with agile and scrum
May 16, 2022

March 30, 2022
I can't recommend this course enough! The way in which Valentin explains Scrum concepts was a great supplement to the Scrum guide. What I appreciate most about this course is that it is continuously updated with the most up to date material. Your best chance to pass the PSPO I exam is by adhering strictly to this course. Go through the material and score 100% on the practice tests as much as you can.
March 21, 2022
With Following Valentin's content and recommendations, i have passed the exam with 95% scoring. My recommendation is to take the exams, check your errors and learn from your mistakes by understanding the content. You must follow the open assessment 100% that is the best practice to make. has some questions that makes things very complicated. If the question or the selections does not really make sense; do not worry; in the real exam the questions are much more clear well defined. 100% satisfied with the content and Valentin's rapid responses. He is there when needed.
