What you will learn

Help their clients who are resisting change.

Create change management plans that incorporate a necessary unlearning process

Compassionately provide motivation for clients to keep at the change process until they succeed

Why take this course?

The job of a coach or a manager, is to help someone who is rational and wants to change, learn how to actually do that by helping them to overcome their instinctual responses so that they can change. The science of how behaviors are shaped and molded, behavioral conditioning techniques known as operant conditioning, is really useful knowledge for a coach or manager.

This course explores the science of how behaviors are changed and how we can use that to help the people we mentor and coach to actually change their behavior so they can succeed in whatever it is they want to do.  The course consists of a set of video lesson with lecture notes for reference.

Take this course if you are a life coach or mentor looking to improve your knowledge and skills so that you can more effectively help your clients and the people you mentor.

She repeated a lot of information from the first to the second video. Look at the transcript, most of the time she is extemporising rather than sharing coherently structured information. My take away "change is hard". Found out you can't unenroll from a course, only archive it.

Too much repetition, very small core message. Could have been said in 5 Minutes. Based on the title I expected at least 5-10 science insights on how to change behavior. I received only one. Disappointing.

It was a good course it left me with more questions then with the answers. Which is ok so I am going to take another course.

It focuses on change on the level of habits and not individuals as a whole in the context of organisational change which is what I'm more interested in

This is very helpful, explained a lot of mistakes I've made in the past in trying to achieve change within myself or others. I've got a lot to think about. Really helpful, highly recommend.

Helpful but a bit frustrating. It felt rushed with ideas whizzing by too quick and the examples seemed jumbled: heroin/relationships humanism/conditioning. I needed a bit more structure and slower pace but I was able to grab a few points for further search. Thank you.

The course helped me better understand the nature of addictive behavior and how to handle it. I feel that not only is it applicable for professionals trying to help a client, but I can use the ideas here to help me stay in control of my own impulses. So I'm glad I took this course.

The course is really good, however i think it is repeating information and it could be more condensed and less lengthy.

I appreciated how organized this lecture was. It's not a comprehensive course on how to make change happen, but it gave me a lot of food for thought as well as some direction on pursuing more information on this topic. The presenter doesn't go off on tangents or pad the presentation with unnecessary material. I felt my time was well-spent.

If more slides could be added , visual learning could have benefitted..sometimes , it appears mundane & monotonous . Overall , I did learn some tactics & facts. Loved the real life examples that shall stay with me forever. Thanks

Jennifer has nicely explained how to manage unlearning process by removing rewards for changing unwanted behavior.

I love this course! It's useful for everyone, not just for coaches or other professionals. This course teaches very practical concepts that can help you understand and stop an unwanted behavior, and what to expect during the process of quitting a behavior. It's very insightful about how negative reinforcement affects a connected behavior. Before, I thought I understood reinforcement, behavior, and how to change behavior -- this course made me realize that I (and almost everyone else) don't understand them at all. If most people understood what this course teaches, there wouldn't be so many people failing to improve their behavior. Thanks for this course! Everyone should watch it! This course may be short, and free, but I consider this an extremely valuable course, more valuable than my other, longer, paid Udemy courses.

Even though the course only touches the main ideas of behavioural change, it is enough to assimilate how it works. The way Jennifer speaks is direct, pleasing and engaging, not too formal and in the "same level" of the student, without jargons or complicated terms. Thumbs up.

This course has good content. I learned a lot about the change process and what to expect during the process.
