Relay Modern + GraphQL + React + MongoDb

The course was good. It explains well how to setup the environment so that Relay will work with React while keeping the code overload to a minimum. However, the minimalistic nature of the course keeps it somewhat shallow. It is a good introduction to Relay, but not much more than that.

Excellent coverage of the new relay modern. Showed how to separate client and server environments and how to share the schema. Just enough detail to show how to get started. A fine addition would be an example of how to handle navigation now that it is no longer part of relay.

Someone who wants to learn relay modern probably knows what nodejs and webpack is. Felt like i lost time and money with something that should be already understood before learning a course on RELAY MODERN

I got the course for learning GraphQL and Relay. The starting of the course is somewhat OK. Then, It goes over basics of React and Webpack. And then suddenly plunges deep into GraphQL and Relay. A lot of things are not explained: Fragments, Relay compilation, etc. Also, mutations are covered too fast. I will prefer the course to focus on just MongoDB, GraphQL and Relay, but in much more detail. Especially, Relay seems to be doing something behind the scenes like auto-generated code. Would like to know more about how these things work. Yes, I can pause and view the code and try to make sense of it. But, then I can always purchase a book, if I have to figure it the hard way.

This is a up to date course, with bleeding edge concepts that worth to learn as fast as possible. The course is simple cookbook and it's good and save time, but some parts where the instructor say it not worth to explain made me a bit frustrated. Overall its a good start that the instructor should improve to make it even better.

Only 1 class with Relay Modern, and show only basic.... I hope the rest of the course will be published with - createRefatchContainer - createPaginationContainer - refatch with pagination - more examples - custom network layer

I paid the course for nothing helpful. I can learn the course content somewhere else better than this course. It useless on real world application - Where the Relay globalId concept - No description on relay specification like Connection, Edges, Node - No how to setup real Relay application on server like Relay Connection, Edges ,Node - How to render these connections on React application - How to pagination with Relay and so many things this course really lack of.

Fantastic teacher ! Ilya is really committed to the learning journey of his students. At first I didn't like that he didn't give the source code for this project - but he was right - rather than making it easy for me, his approach forced me to pay attention to the videos and I learned so much more than when I have the lazy path of the project files at hand. And the course material is right at the bleeding edge of data-driven react development. I'm hoping he's going to do future courses on Relay and GraphQL.

When I saw this course for the first time I had doubts: so big theme and only 1.5 hours of lectures? What can I learn from this? But there is absolutely no useful or understandable information on the internet about Relay Modern, so I gave that course a chance and I was surprised. The info is so concentrated, I had to pause the video to catch all the details or even to watch it twice. He explains very well and with a good pace and he gives really a lot of info. I don't consider myself a pro in this area of development so it was not easy for me to understand everything only watching it once. He gives enough of schemes, what I like, and explanations how everything is connected and what I need to code/execute here to get the certain result there. At first I was a pretty perplexed, why only 1.5 hour, he could stretch the course at least in 3 times, it would be easy for beginners like me, but then I got it. 1.5 hour is pretty easy to rewatch, I won't need to spent my 6-10-20 hours again to refresh my knowledge. I've watched the course on the weekend and I remember the details now, but I don't think I'll still remember all nuances in a couple of months when I'm going to use this technology. But I'm sure when time comes, it won't take long to recall everything I need and it'll be convenient to come back to the course if I forget how to do something.
