Red Hat Satellite Technical Overview (RH053)

Was a little concerned that Satellite would be difficult to use, but the presenter puts you at ease explaining as he demonstrates using it.

This is a straight forward overview and one that breaks the ice should the i have an opportunity to set one up.

Good Point: 1) very good introduction session to understand what is Satellite, it’s features and scope of use. 2) Good understanding about it’s ideal deployment and use possibility the deployment architect – DC, Regional explain at introduction level but still good to get overall picture on product level. 3) Demo are fast (for secondary skill resource like me) but still worth and achieve its purpose 4) Nice explanation on patch and software management, including custom packages Missing point (my Point of view): 1. feel like sales presentation need more Technical details like setup, configuration details and deployment possibility 2. missing satellite version information and evolution of version changes, compatibility/supported version details 3. Introduction music volume is too loud, I had to remove headphones every time at start of each video

I thought it was a decent overview. However, the clicking of the buttons and my general inexperience with Satellite provisioning made me wonder if I might blow something up in Azure, AWS, etc. I'm not even certain about what credentials would've been required [if any].

basics is missing? how to install satellite package and the GUI web portal as you are doing. where are the steps? where is the recommended rhel version to use satellite 6.x?

I would like to thank RedHat for this informative video to know about the Satellite System Management.

A little bit light on detail. I would be great if Red Hat/IBM could provide more free content that went into greater detail

I was looking for information on how Satellite 6.x has changed from 5.x and was pleased to find all the new (cool) features. I thought John did a great job in presenting and I'm looking forward to more learning about Satellite!

I have struggled with satellite for over a year, can not get it to work and the available online documentation is poor, this (so far) is clearing up some of the concepts

Good so far - extremely clean, concise, to the point, and broken down to be easily understood. I am taking this to get an overview and an understanding of what Satellite is and what it can do. Very easy to understand - well done!

Fue una buena introducción a los conceptos de Satellite, creo que cumple con ello aunque hace falta profundizar mucho sobre muchos más conceptos ya de forma personal.

O curso da um overview interessante sobre a plataforma Red Hat Satelite. Eu sou um iniciante na área e digamos que consegui entender 60% do curso.

Considering the fact that this training is just to have a general overview over the satellite, it's ok to not have information from scratch for adding hosts and perform prior tasks to the ones presented.
