Read Hebrew Without Vowel Signs

This course not only taught me how to read without vowel signs, it taught me so much on how to read Hebrew roots with their prefixes and suffixes. The Resources provided are a great help. I appreciate the suggestions of how to keep studying Hebrew in the future. I may take the Hebrew Basics course soon.

Hebrew is hard but this teaching is very informative I'm a beginner to the Bone but I am understanding the concepts and the explanations offered by this module thank you bevakasha

I still don't know how to read without vowels, just teach the basics everyday words we already familiar with like personal pronouns.....waste of money

Yeah, this was good. I finished it some time ago, only just now saw the ratings page. I can read more phonetically now that I could before. Perhaps the best message is that, yeah, needing vowels to read bespeaks a low level of literacy, but there are lots of details in Hebrew where you just need to know how the language works I order to pronounce things properly. Gender variations maybe the most common. (So it has inspired me to learn more.). Some of the tools suggested at the end of this course have been helpful. I don’t recall the urls now, but there is one that displays a word, then plays it in audio. Also the course distributed by FSI that was developed for the Diplomatic Corps is really excellent - lots of grammatical explanation and useful topics for visiting/traveling. Good stuff, thanks

I am doing well with reading and understanding Hebrew. I have been making great progress. Although I have been reading Hebrew without vowel signs, this course has helped me to further understand why there are differences with using or not using niqqud. Also, this course especially fills in the gaps or questions that I have had while on my personal journey to learning Hebrew. By filling in the gaps for me, I feel much more confident in my progression to learning Hebrew. I have come a long way trying to learn on my own, but courses like this help me to further advance and I pray that I can speak, write, read and understand even more fluidly (especially as fluidly as I do English and Spanish). Thank you for this course. It has helped me to see that I am on on the right track; that I am doing very well with my learning progression; and that the areas where I was unclear are now understood by taking this course. Your introduction to the use of Niqqud is excellent; however, to answer your question, I'm advanced beyond this level.

The content and explanations are clear but the re-explanation is far too slow as this course progresses.

This is the only place I've found a thorough and systematic approach to reading Hebrew without vowel signs. It is easy to follow and gives a lot of great tips and tools. Thank you very much for creating this course.

I appreciate how clearly they explain things and I especially like the examples given for me to test myself.
