Why take this course?

Welcome to my course on React Three Fiber.

If you've ever tried to read the React Three Fiber documentation, you may have noticed the phrase,

"You need to be versed in both React and Threejs before rushing into this."

And this is the gap that this course will try to help you fill.

We will look at the basics of using React Three Fiber with Threejs and introduce many of the great helpers that you also get when using the Drei library.

At the end, we would have covered many of the requirements to understand how to build your own React Three Fiber projects, and also understand the official examples better, so that you can confidently continue on your own to build much more complex applications in the future.

As we progress though the course, we will learn new concepts in each lesson, that will be in context from the previous lesson, so that you will understand better the problem that each new concept was designed to solve.

React Three Fiber is great for working with Threejs, and I am sure you will like it to. It's very clear, minimal, the code looks neat, and you will be able to create very robust applications in a very short amount of time.

All the code demonstrated is provided in the accompanying documentation that you also have access to for free, so that you will be able to easily copy/paste and participate alongside the videos.

So, there is much to learn, but in the end, you will have developed the techniques required to build your own Three.js projects declaratively, with re-usable self-contained components, that react to state and will be able to participate in the ever-expanding React ecosystem.

This course helped me understand mutch better how to use the Hooks of React Three Fiber and its basics. Also demonstrated many interesting effects and possbilities that are mutch easier to implement then expected with this library. Thank You!

I found this course to be well thought out and the supplied materials were extremely well timed and accurate. I ran into a small issue (most likely user error) during the gltfjsx portion , but deleting and reloading the model into the public file took care of that. I was getting an error while performing the "npx ...." step but it was just a minor hiccup along the way. I even learned a few new skills in blender that I had not previously been exposed to, but learned in this course. Overall a great introduction to the realm of react three fiber and the ecosystem it operates in.

It feels to me that it would be great if we have some sort of hands-on project. Although the instructor provides a great ammountof valuable information, it would be nice to have a hands on project, once we have successfully finished the first part of the course

This is my second course from Sean, I also took Three.js and Typescript and both were fantastic. There was a little bit of overlap, but he did a great job creating unique projects for both courses. I found value in taking them both. As with the other one, I wish there weren't as much copy and pasting, as I learn better by going through line by line, but he does an excellent job at explaining things, which offsets my concern a bit. Thanks for the great courses Sean!

There's overexplanation of react concepts, but I'm assuming some people are also new to react. Apart of that the course looks great, it covers the basics very well and you have a solid ground to start building your own 3d pages

Mr Bradley conveys what are, from the outset, seemingly complex topics in a highly digestible and accessible manner. The material that he covers in this course have equipped me with the tools, confidence, and know-how to undertake my own R3F projects. I can't emphasize enough how successfully he's imparted this content in such a concise manner. Top marks to his educator skills and huge appreciation for having put this course together. WOULD RECOMMEND for anyone looking to utilize R3F and ThreeJS in real world applications.

I've looked at lots of threejs tutorials, and this is the best so far. Most bombard with heaps of information early on about the various details of geometries and materials and light sources and so on and have *heaps* of code early on that can be hard to track. As a React developer, I'm already familiar with the React concepts, but I'm enjoying the review and how they are linked directly to threejs concepts along each step. I feel much more confident, now, that I'll be able to get somewhere on my threejs journey than I did a few hours ago when I started this course. I actually paid full price instead of waiting for an Udemy sale and grabbing it for ~$8, and I don't mind at all. Also, as far as I can tell, it's up-to-date with the latest versions of the various libraries (thankfully no breaking changes have required changing the script).

Great, well-paced course that gets you up and running with @react-three/fiber as well as @react-three/drei. I only had one issue when going through the course, but that issue was to do with Typescript which was outside of the course content anyway. Other courses on this topic are outdated and poorly explained, so I think this is the best one! Highly recommend if you are looking to understand the library better!

About half way through the course and it has been very informative so far. There are a lot of tricks and other helpful information that will certainly save a lot of time as I am building out my first react three fiber site.
