Why take this course?

OpenSIPS is one of the most popular open-source SIP servers in the market. The project started in 2008 as a fork of the SER project and it has evolved with new versions every year
The SIP and OpenSIPS skill is one of the most valuable for those pursuing a career in the telecommunication market. It is not hard to find jobs in this area with six-figures.

With OpenSIPS you can:

  • Register Users

  • Make Calls

  • Manipulate any header or body of the message

  • Route thousands of calls per second based on millions of prefix entries using Dynamic Routing

  • Route according to the quality of the call

  • Load balance Asterisk/FreeSwitch servers

This is great content. It's difficult getting a clear a professional understanding of something new by just watching on YouTube. Just getting through the first section of the course and already very happy with it. Thank you!

The course is based on the book "Building Telephony Systems with OpenSIPS" and it does a good job of covering some gaps I had while reading the book. However, some demos seem to be missing.

Install was not without hitches but Flavio is very responsive for getting you up and running. I have taken some of his other courses and he will leave in some of the issues you can encounter in his videos so you can see how he deals with them. This helps the learner understand more about what is going on.

The recent update makes this course 5 starts. Great detail and introduction to opensips. Would love to have a second course to this to dig deeper into routing.

You need prior knowledge of sip, although this course does a primer of sip, newcomers may struggle to understand the concepts of message flow. Also as far as opensips training this is simply an overview ready to take the bootcamp training and doesn't go into any depth of setting up a server to act as a proxy or sbc.

The audio quality is rough sometimes, and the course narrator runs into a few problems he has to work though. The video could have been edited before publishing to remove these issues, however. Beyond what I would consider superficial problems, it's a great course by someone who obviously understands the intricacies of the platform, protocol and industry.

This course gives a general ideia about OpenSIPS, and as said by the instructor, prepares you to the Bootcamp. Maybe in the future, a more imersive OpenSIPS course could be prepared and will be wellcome. I recomend if you wanna make a review of your SIP knowledge and prepare yourself to learn more about OpenSIPS.

Very well explained! This material is a good point to start with SIP too. Mesmo para os brasileiros o Inglês do professor é bem falado e fácil de entender.

Material quality is high, but presentation is not well done. There is sound quality issues and unnecessary pauses, breaks in flow.
