Why take this course?

One of the world's most popular productivity methods is Getting Things Done, or GTD. Despite it's popularity, it's also something that many people give up on because it has a very steep learning curve.

I've been using GTD for 15 years and have helped many people get started with this great productivity method. It isn't for everyone. But if you're willing to do the work to use this method, it can work--and does work for millions out there.

One of the trickiest parts of being productive is applying the techniques you learn on your own. So rather than trying to offer you something you don't know will work for you, this course is a little different. By purchasing this course, you're buying two things:

  1. The course itself offers some practical first steps to getting started with GTD fast.
  2. You're also purchasing access to the course Q&A where you can interact with me directly to help you get started with GTD.

There are slides titled Course Expectations which essentially contain bullet point of writer's own experience. Like "I started GTD in 2002". There is incoherence between the tile and the contents that can be confusing to the readers

Course is a decent overview but had very little practical instruction on how to actually implement (aka get started with) GTD. It’s all slides and bullet points; too much telling and not enough showing.

It explains very well what is the course about and what to expect. The way he talks is very easy to follow

I could not find any information like the ones in this lessons. I looked a lot in the internet. This is a very great content.

Visual aids showing how these tools can be applied, even as examples that may not be applicable to every viewer, would be extremely useful.

This course along with his Todoist course have been really eye opening to me. He explains in a very friendly, down-to-earth way how to organize things in your life. It's a subject matter that could get very boring. And even those this is just presented in slides, it is still engaging and interesting. I've also read David Allens' Getting Things Done years ago. Although it definitely helped me, there were still a lot of things that I wasn't able to figure out how to apply to my daily life. This course does that for me. I am very grateful that he made this course.

Lots of filler, very repetitive. Yes, we get it, you should tailor GTD to your own needs. I stopped listening when he explained that when you took your first break, you could get a cup of coffee, tea, OR water.

I like Dan's upfront and honest approach as it adopts a philosophy of morphing GTD methods to cater to one's own style & adaptability.

Yes...I think this is brilliant! My head feels so much lighter. What is shocking is...I have always thought of my self as someone who revolted against too much structure...I am finding out that the opposite is true - I actually needed the RIGHT structure for me.

One of the best course I ever followed on Udemy. Very useful summary of GTD method on how to put it in place and use it on a daily basis. Many thanks !

I feel like I was Power Pointed to death through this course. I could not even finish it. It was so dry. I already utilize GTD and wanted to just refresh and see if there were any ideas for new systems, or something I have not thought of yet and I could not even bear to listen to this anymore to get to that section. This may be good for someone who has never read the book or listened to GTD podcasts if you are okay with a course that is power point after power point.

I’m guessing that 30% of this videos are filling material. I hate it when my time is wasted. It also doesn’t feel like a complete QuickStart to get. If he would’ve taken the time he took as filler right now, I feel like he could have given all the info on GTD. Now I feel empty and not ready. I would not recommend this course if you haven’t read GTD AND don’t have a good system set up.

This course is very basic and without real world example or practice. GTD Organization is done on actions and not on list of projects or tasks.

I've been trying to get GTD going for years. I have all three printed books and two on audio. I just never put in enough time to sort it out in my mind and tough it out. This is exactly what I've been looking for. Dan gets to the point quickly and clearly, teaches just the needed concepts, gives exactly the necessary steps you need to get started, and includes countless little lessons that one normally learns the hard way. Bonus: He enunciates so clearly, I can listen at double-speed.
