What you will learn

Students will learn how to proofread and self-edit their books and why it's so important.

Description

Have you finished your book? Ready to publish a blog? Releasing website content? Before you press that submit button and reveal your writing to the world, be sure to proofread and self-edit your material.  Writers are often eager to publish and don't take the steps necessary to ensure that their writing presents themselves professionally.  When you publish, you tell the world who you are! Be sure that you are telling them you are the expert not just in the content (the what), show this in the quality (the how).

This was a good introductory course that quickly covers types of editing and how/where to save money. I definitely was able to take things away from this apply them almost immediately. THE most important things I took away from this was her checklist section. This course does not teach you how to proofread or edit, just some very general advise with a focus on saving money. This is a great course to get warmed up on information if you haven't been in school for a really long time and need a refresher. I will say be warned, she talks very very slowly.

I am from research background and currently a PhD Student Researcher in Photonics and Optics. I highly needed this type of course to enhance my editing and proofreading skills. Yes, definitely, it helped me a lot. Thank you so much :)

Although the information delivered is decent, it doesn't qualify to the standard to which the creator of this course is labeling; in other words; most of the information in here can be found on youtube for free. Which isn't a problem since it is free for now, but for the initial part, it does rub off the wrong way.
