PROJECT MANAGEMNET

Description

PRINCE2 Practitioner certification is suitable for anyone managing projects. This could be as part of a formal project management function or a role which involves project management as part of day-to-day work. The Practitioner certification aims to confirm that you have sufficient knowledge and understanding to apply and tailor the method in a range of different project environments and scenarios.

Attaining your Practitioner qualification is only one part of becoming a successful and effective project manager. It is important to ensure that yous upplement this with real-life experience working on projects, in addition to investing in personal professional development and wider training.

The PRINCE2 Practitioner certification will expire after 3 years. In order to maintain your qualification and ensure there are no gaps in your Practitioner status, you can either retake the PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam before the expiry date or maintain your certification through CPD points and a digital badge.

Differences from PMP:

Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute may be seen as a competitor of PRINCE2. In general, the UK, Australia prefer PRINCE2, and the US and American countries prefer PMP. Asia, Africa and the Middle East area have no strong preference for PMP or PRINCE2. The important thing is that PMP (PMBOK) can be used with PRINCE2.

PRINCE2 and PMP acknowledge each other's existence in their advertising material and attempt to position themselves as complementary products – PRINCE2 as a "methodology" and PMP as a "standard"[26] – which can be used alongside each other. In practice, companies and practitioners choose one system or both depending on the project environment, their geographical location and costs involved.

Lack of explanations for model answers in the test is poor and somewhat contradictory to PRINCE2 principles....

The presentation of the scenarios is very confusing. There are a few scenarios mixed within the 5 parts and additional information provided for each part. It is not clear which scenario is applicable. It is also very difficult to read the scenario again after you have passed the first question. This course appears to have been compiled from old test format that does not apply well to computer based test. There are also typos and perhaps missing parts in the scenarios as well. There are no explanations to the model answers so it does not help learning. It does not simulate a real examination environment. The time limit and passing requirement are not realistic and do not reflect real exam requirements. Overall, very disappointing.
