Why take this course?

Welcome to Preparing to Certified OpenStack Administrator Exam Course!

The Course provides great introduction to OpenStack and covers all topics listed in current COA Exam (Stein Version) Requirements. However, the Course is based on previous COA Exam Version (2018).

For best experience set-up learning OpenStack Environment, as instructed in Section 12, which includes a guide to set up OpenStack Pike Release Lab.

By end of this Course you will proficiently execute routine OpenStack Administration tasks, like creating Project Networks & Routers, Launching Virtual Server Instances, managing Block and Object Storage in OpenStack Cloud.

In this Course you get not only a detailed and deep understanding of OpenStack, but most important you get a Training Lab to develop practical skills. This Lab is delivered as a Virtual Appliance to install on a laptop or a desktop. It is based on Community Version of OpenStack, so no Vendor bias in the Course.

The Course comes with 18 Lab Sessions with  more than 120 Objectives to complete. These are practical Exercises, like Create a Volume and Attach it to Virtual Server Instance, then Snapshot the Volume, or Launch the Orchestration Stack with multiple Virtual Resources.

If you are a System Administrator and you want to gain highly paid Cloud Proficiency, this is the Course for you.

Free Preview available for Lecture 17 in Section 5 and for Lecture 37 in Section 9. Enjoy!

This course is good and we got lot of information in detail. But I still feel its bit old so few content has to be updated.

I do miss an easy to access list to some of the linked resources. Since the lectures purposefully skip some details, I'd have loved easily accessible references to learn more for the ones I was interested in.

The lecture is outdated, resources are still working but is several major releases behind the current exam environment. Audio is inconsistent in levels and clarity.

The content is outdated in some sections. Each topic is explained 2 times in the intro and in the wrap up videos which is absolutely unnesessary in video course. The length oh the coulse could be less. The volume is not the same in videos. Sometimes it is impossible to hear what the trainer is talking.

Very good course but missing some points required for the current exam. For example policy file creation and instance resize. I created a ussuri version of the course vm in case anyone is interested: https://github.com/drencrom/ussuri-coa-lab

Great overall information on the various aspects of OpenStack to prepare me. Have extensive experience already but it is always good to here someone else's take and also see if there are any little details that i may have missed or don't always have time to work with!

This is one the best courses I've taken in Udemy. Despite of being a little bit outdated, it's still useful to understand the way OpenStack works. I didn't use VirtualBox to run the virtual machine but KVM as virtualization engine, at first I couldn't launch any instance, but it didn't stop me to go on taking the course. Thanks to the troubleshooting section I could notice that the problem was in Neutron and I made changes in its configuration. Finally I achieved to solve the issue and was able to launch instances to continue practising. Thank you Kris!

I quite enjoy the training. labs are quite useful. Only what is missing is materials for theory. Thanks to this training I was able to pass my COA exam on the first attempt in February 2022

I got passed the COA exam on March 2, 2022. This course had very helpful for me not only to pass the exam but also to improve my understanding and knowledge about OpenStack. Though I have some difficulties with creating and managing policy files and user access rules without documentation, I got high scores. Thank you for Kris! I'm very impressed with your kindly and broad content of classes.

Profound knowledge for (soon to be) OpenStack operators. Excellent labs for trying out what you have just learned. Although its based on the Newton release, it is still valid. And in the last session you get a recipe for building your own lab (VM with OpenStack) so you can adopt it for current releases. What could be improved is the appearance of the terminal. The green letters on the black background is sometimes hard to read.

I got my COA certificate on 01.09.21 preparing almost solely with this course. This is the only course available with excellent theory and OpenStack architecture lectures (despite being a bit old). To pass the exam follow this course, buid yourself a devstack lab and practice following the COA requirements at openstack.org Thank you Kris, excellent course!
