What you will learn

Discover what SSRS is and how it delivers reports

Understand how to make those reports more useful to report users

Create reports using the Business Intelligence Development Studio

Why take this course?

This course covers the Microsoft reporting tool, SQL reporting services, also known as SSRS. SSRS is used by many companies that have any form of Microsoft financial or CRM products.

It is also a useful tool for any organisation that uses databases to store their data on as SSRS can be used with any database, not just SQL Server.

This course provides all you need to know to get started developing reports using SSRS. We download and install the free tools and work from the basics of creating your first report, through to delivering reports that provide useful and user-friendly control to users of those reports.

The reports you also create in the course are available to download for future reference.

If you are looking to do any kind of reporting then its worth looking at what SSRS has to offer. It is not just a useful skill for creating reports within your own company/business, it is an in-demand skill that appears many times on job boards.

Very informative but it would be much better if the database was easier to locate. This course may just need an update to the resources.

The course is easy to follow. The instructor was detailed as he walked through the different reporting elements. With minimum knowledge of SQL you can follow along and gain tangible knowledge from this course.

So far it's pretty good. I think he could add what to do when you get the "typical" security issues in setting up the report server. It was fairly well done. Covers the basics and was fairly easy to follow along. It was definitely worth the fee, I believe. If I were to add to the course, I would give exercises every so often to do on our own. Then, have the next video be a review of the correct way to carry out the exercise. Just a suggestion.

My only complain is that the instructor should have increased the font size of the SQL queries to make it easier to read while following along. The content was logically structured to build on each previous module, each concept building on the previous. Good job!

This was a great course for the beginner or the person that wanted to refresh their skills. It had a lot of real world examples that made this course well worth the money and time.

A very practical, focused guide to show you the basics and get you started. Very worthwhile for a beginner.

Good introductory course. Scratched the surface. Production quality was spotty in some places. Some of the examples were not very practical, but were good to illustrate the concepts. Would have liked to hear more about conditional formatting like hiding columns instead of coloring.

The lectures are concise. You follow along and build reports. The reports are simple. Coverage: data sources, datasets, table, matrix, graph, parameters, cascading parameters, expressions, formatting, report banding, drill down, drill out to another report, report deployment. Not in depth but gives you the confidence to explore. Does not cover subreports. After this tutorial you can probably figure out how to integrate a subreport (not difficult). I got this on sale. I'm satisfied. I think I have other courses from this instructor, he's a good teacher. Video quality is sometimes not so good (if you can hear, just follow along and don't panic).

I had been away from SSRS for 5 years, this course got me right up to speed. Instructor assumes nothing, clearly explains how to be successful with a task.

Some of the videos clarity need improvement. I wasn't sure if the instructor was typing a * or a = . More practice examples would be great. Overall, the instructor did a great job!

Very good concise course with no waffle. The guy knows what he's talking about and gives some very practical examples of using SSRS. It is based on BIDS 2008 but not very much seems to have changed up to and including SQL 2014. The examples are quite simple but you'll come away with a good working knowledge of SSRS. His overuse of the word 'literally' is a little annoying - but that's the only bad thing I can say :).

I'd certainly recommend this course to anyone who wishes to learn SSRS. The course delivery is clear and comprehensible with some excellent working examples from Adventure Works database (which is available online on SQL Server website). Five star all round!

This is an excellent course, it provides useful daily tasks someone would ask you to do when creating a report. Great if it would have a sequel. Advanced SSRS Thank you Gary!
