I would give it 5 stars, but some of the functionality of lisp has changed in newer versions of AutoCAD. But not much.

The course is well presented and gives a good grounding in the basics of Lisp programming. Makes it easy for me to follow the Lisp reference manual on commands etc.

I've been using AutoCAD for many years and whilst I've picked up a bit of AutoLISP along the way, I never really took the time to properly learn the basics. I would say that this course has helped me achieve that. The course structure is set out in a sensible way and the instructor is clear enough and takes the time to explain why he is doing what he is doing in the examples. I feel maybe there could have been more exercises for the student to do as I really do think it helps reinforce what's just been learned, but overall he goes through enough real world examples to keep it from getting too dull. The 'Hands-On' projects in the last section are more of watching the instructor write and explain his code and the student isn't really tasked with trying to work out how to achieve the goal themselves. Having said that, I guess there's nothing stopping you from pausing the video and having a go yourself. Lastly, it's worth noting that creating non command type functions, local variables, and file I/O are only briefly covered in some of the final Hands-On projects. And for those who are looking for slightly more advanced topics such as using AutoLISP with DCL dialog boxes and VisualLISP, these topics aren't covered at all.

In summary, after completing all lessons, it was a pretty good introduction to AutoLISP, though I definitely wouldn't consider this to be geared towards "Advanced". I don't have any programming experience but have been using the various subsets of AutoCAD for almost 10 years now. A lot of the programs that were shown in this course already exist as commands in AutoCAD, which is what made the majority of these programs kind of useless. Also, I was hoping to learn about creating dialog boxes where I can actually assign values to dropdown menus, but this course didn't even touch base on that. Overall, I think it's a decent course if you're an absolute beginner AND know your way around AutoCAD. I'm hoping I can find a more in-depth course that actually explains all the programming language used, though I'll probably end up piecing together what I learned here with other online resources and forums.

I have learned a lot so far. Especially about the rules. Just starting out in LISP programming. Great examples to start of with.

Halfway through and I have learned a lot of basic functions. I am an engineer who regularly draws fluid power and electrical schematics.

1. Actual Earlt Note++ video were not clear especially orange colour. 2. Also the structure of the course was difficult at firstly to grasp as the Presenter did not explain reason why various code were used. We had to blindly copied his code. Later on it became much easier to understand and the present or went thru each example piec of code. Enjoying the classes but a little improvement needs to be done. Thanks Regards

After 30 minutes we are still not actually into the course. Perhaps the “what is AutoLisp?” “Who is it for?” “Why learn Auto Lisp?” Could be covered before the purchase. Once we start the course we should be into the course material.

It was good. I feel I don't have enough knowledge / skills to write the practical stuff I need. Very good starting place but I wouldn't advertise it as "...To advanced"

I had zero knowledge of Autolisp language and Autocad. I learned a lot with this course. I recommend it for beginners.

Not so engaging I want to work along, just talking, make more interactive please The course in the middle just goes to commandline info being typed in would expect it to be more interactive and actual real world examples.

Instructor was easy to understand which is great, course material was relatively straight forward, and this was a great introduction, I definitely recommend it for anyone who has no prior knowledge with autolisp and want's a quick introduction. I was able to get through it in a couple of days. I do have two recommendations that could help if the instructor updates the course. (Which aren't really about the course but instead due to autolisp itself) 1. It would be nice to have more in-depth explanation of what selection sets are, how to manipulate them, and how to investigate the elements they contain. 2. A little more explanation of definition objects and how to quickly retrieve them to review them to understand what properties are going to be relevant, and how to extract those properties within the code. In other programming languages (python) it is easy to inspect the contents of collection objects (lists, sets, arrays, dictionaries etc) and to figure out what commands are needed to iterate through them for the purpose of troubleshooting. Autolisp doesn't feel very intuitive, because multiple commands are needed to review the elements of an object. but this course does serve as a great jumping off point, the instructor could provide a slide with some material/sources on "moving forward" after this course that would be helpful.

Yes. Tutorings go systematically and make the knowledge aggregate to use in the last part. Lecturer's speaking is very clear. Good starting education video !
