What you will learn

Learn about the uses of power electronics rectifiers, dc-to-dc converters, and inverters

Understand and analyze single-phase and three-phase rectifier circuits

Understand and analyze buck (step-down), boost (step-up), and buck-boost (step-down/up) dc-to-dc converter circuits

Understand and analyze single-phase and three-phase inverter circuits

Description

This course is designed to provide a complete overview of one of the main areas of electrical engineering and power engineering: power electronics. The three main types of power electronics devices (i.e., rectifiers, dc-to-dc converters, and inverters) are discussed in detail in the lectures. For each device, the ideal circuit is discussed along with different circuit topologies to provide a wide range of practical uses.

By learning how rectifiers, dc-to-dc converters, and inverters are designed, you will learn the fundamentals for designing your own power electronics devices, such as battery chargers, switched-mode power supplies, solar inverters, and variable frequency drives, among others.

Throughout the course, practical numerical problems are solved to aid your understanding of power electronics. Additionally, the course includes 5 quizzes with a total of 15 questions. Three articles are also provided so you can learn by reading as well as videos.

Remember that Udemy offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. I am also always available for questions while you go through the course to ensure everything is clear.

See you in the course!

I expected more. The course covers the fundamental architectures but nothing more. Simulations, real application examples and more advanced architectures would have been interesting. The content of the course can also be found on YouTube....

Falta ainda muito conteúdo por dar desta matéria. Preço demasiado elevado para aquilo que aqui é ensinado.

Ricardo speaks in a clear detailed way. I am native English (Canada) and my mind can't easily grasp the concept, if the English also has to be deciphered at the same time. Making my focus more pointed on the topic, not trying to figure out what was just said as well. He also knows the topic well! 6 stars!

the course I have selected is a match preference for me since I am learning how the power supply works from AC TO DC.

The course covers the basics of power engineering in an approachable manner. The explanation of instructor very good and detailed. But I did not advise this course for absolute beginners, you should have some basic knowledge in analog components and circuit analysis. The course concentrates on the power engineering theory what is good. I like Ricardo Romero as an instructor. Thanks Ricardo.

I took a power electronics class in college years ago and I enjoyed it. After many years, however, I needed a refresher. This course has really helped it was to the point with a good step by step approach. For the length of the class, it was perfect.

This course is much more math oriented then I thought. I feel this should be stated on the course. I also feel the instructor is rushing through the math and not explaining some of the concepts in enough detail.

The content was good and the tutor explained pretty well everything inside the course. It would be more perfect if the script provided with the course could be written more perfectly. I found a good number of wrong words which actually can confused anyone when taking this course.
