Nothing seems to work or updated. I tried using the superslides but it didn’t work, so I looked up the official documentation and some features also don’t work. Neither do the carousel images go fullscreen by default, and I couldn’t find in the documentation how to fix that. All in all, after much googling for answers I’m giving up.

Very easy to follow and does not need any prerequisites if you are new to web development. The usage of a few plugins has changed since the video was last updated, which might need a little bit of time to figure out. But the course is great overall. The final website looks awesome!

Because the video is alittle old the Bootstrap site has changed alittle all that has to be done is pay attention to the correct scripts you need to copy.

Believe it or not I've now bought every single course from this tutor. At the beginning a complete novice (hope I've spelt that right) As I become more familiar with code things are generally starting to make more sense and I have now realized how to juggle page content/ layout. I would have given him 5 stars, but I have one pet hate and that is pure laziness - One example; Icons (ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!) so easy to create your own [as I did for this course] - I came to the course to learn, not how to cheat! Apologies if that comment hurts - but I come here to learn

Excellent course on designing and building a portfolio site without using the same old tired templates that every hiring manager has seen 10,000 times. For those wanting to build out their own custom portfolio site but don't know where to start, this course has you covered. Everything is broken down in simple to follow steps. The instructor does a great job of explaining the why and how of everything at each stage. There are tons of resource files throughout the course to help keep you on track. The only potential downside to this build is that it is written jQuery, which is not as prolific as React now days. However, it would be fairly simple to take what you build here and convert into another framework should you choose to do so.

It would have been nice if he covered the basics of deploying a static website because it seems that this course was intended for beginners, but overall it does what it says and gives a great starting point for one to make a responsive portfolio website. The other stuff can easily be learned through other sources. This course is straight to the point and the site has some nice functionality without having to search here and there through google searches for what you need. Very good course if you want a good looking portfolio and have little time to come up with and search for specific features yourself through google/youtube.

Firstly, since Udemy doesn't show what year the course was made - I had no idea this was so old. Secondly, most courses I've done so far that are a bit older - they are constantly being updated. Most of the stuff in this course is very outdated. What pocked me the most is that - this is a making portfolio course, so obviously I am making this in order to use it as a portfolio, for commercial use. I don't like the fact that there are plug-ins you need to pay for in order to use commercially, since there are free alternatives for plug-ins with the same functionality. Overall, I am pretty disappointed.
