REVIEWS OF CARL'S TEACHING

"I like the simple way that Carl clearly explains everything in a manner that is easy to comprehend. He is a gifted teacher." - Merilyn M.

"Very easy to learn with and doesn't make me feel slow when learning something new :) Very happy and makes me feel confident in my learning." - Dakota S.

"This is the real deal! The next best thing to being with a teacher in person." - Les R.

WHAT CAN I PLAY?

Have you learned the music basics only to find a shortage of approachable and inspiring pieces to play? As a piano teacher of over thirty years, I have found that, once beginner students have completed a few months of learning the basics of notes and rhythm, there are a limited number of options regarding progression. Either the student carries on with more advanced primer courses which can be lacking in inspiration or they make the jump to 'real' pieces which may prove over-challenging and not provide any structure for advancing. This course aims to bridge the gap between primer level and 'real' music.

ABOUT THE COURSE

The course is split into ten sections, each focusing on one piece of music. The pieces are specially arranged by me and graded in order of difficulty to provide a solid progression path in which concepts are visited and revisited to build not just your repertoire but your musical skills and knowledge.

Each section starts with an overview and a playthrough of the piece so you always know what you are working towards. Then there are 'mechanics' lectures which teach you how to best learn the notes and rhythms using techniques and shortcuts that I have gathered and developed over years of teaching. Finally you learn how to interpret the music emotionally and in context to make a confident, assured and convincing performance.

GIVE A MAN A FISH

By the end of the course you won't just be able to play ten new pieces. You will have the skills and toolset to apply what you have learned to new music and to make further progress on your own. You won't just be taught to play by rote but will be encouraged to make artistic and technical decisions yourself. Skills you will use for the rest of your piano career.

REAL PIANO LESSONS

This is a deep dive into piano playing that will have you playing arrangements of the music of some of the greatest composers who ever lived such as Mozart, Beethoven and Bach and will give you pleasure for years to come.

All in all my piano method is the next best thing to having one-to-one piano lessons, but at a fraction of the cost and with the ability to schedule your learning to times that suit you.

Don't put it off any longer, there's no time like the present and with a 30-day money back guarantee there's no risk. Start your wonderful journey into the world of the great composers today.

Really appreciate not having to worry about timing, speed or rhythm when starting out with a new piece. Very helpful advice.

Being a multi-instrumentalist I was immediately impressed at how much attention is given to musicality from the start - and not just typing notes. Also, the explanations of fingerings and hand positions are wonderful. The arrangements are perfect for us beginners on piano. From experience, it is so much better to play something well at your level than stumbling through something above your level and repeating mistakes. Trying to play pieces above your level and repeating mistakes is poison. Thank you. You are a wonderful teacher.

Very nice selection of classical pieces, great arrangements for semi-beginners having completed the basic course

Partialy with daring simplifications (if one knows the original version), but this is obviously due to playability for us beginners. So thank you for this set of playable "Classic Hits"!

I bought my electronic keyboard half year ago. Since then, I have enrolled in a few piano courses online. As a beginner, my skills are of course not good (especially the co-ordination of the two hands) but I believe they will improve through practice. I like this course because it can train up my skills with beautiful music pieces, instead of boring scale and chord exercises (which make you give up easily).

I enjoyed this course very much. It was well structured, and a great introduction to a range of composers. Some of the pieces (Satie's Gymnopedie, Chopin's Nocturne and Debussy's Claire de Lune) I would not have attempted in their original versions, but they are such magnificent pieces that it was lovely to have an opportunity to learn simplified and shortened versions. Thank you, Carl.

Love his method of teaching. I feel like I have learned more from him compared to the months of private lessons I took from a local piano teacher. For a while, I “abandoned” my piano and just let it gather dust. I can honestly say that Mr. Eden renewed my love for playing the piano. Now, I can’t wait to get home from work to practice on my piano. I hope Mr. Eden comes up with more courses/lessons. I’m looking forward to it and of course, will be more than happy to pay. Thank you sir.
