Why take this course?

Hello, I'm Arrimus 3D and welcome to my Plasticity modeling guide. Now you can learn this amazing new CAD program in record time! In this course you will learn how to use Plasticity at a high level and pick up all sorts of nice tips and tricks to start designing and modeling in no time. In all honesty Plasticity is the best 3D modeling program I've ever used and I think if you've experienced frustrations in the past you owe it to yourself to check it out. You will learn to create an industrial mech walker used for cutting down trees inspired by films like Avatar and real-life industrial machines like bulldozers and tree cutters. You will learn how to block out, refine, and detail your models extremely quickly with the power of Plasticity's user-friendly workflow and approach. Are you someone who wants to hit the ground running with Plasticity and start creating amazing designs in less than a day? This course has no fast-forwarding and gently guides you into using Plasticity at a high level. This course was made for those who want to get rid of all the frustration of hard surface modeling and just focus on fast design and iteration. Plasticity's artist-first design, power, and simplicity make it a breeze to use. Check out the free previews and I look forward to seeing what you can do after completing the course. I am confident that you will not not regret giving this course a chance.

That was a great overview of Plasticity and I'm eager for more. This program is exactly what I was hoping for: a drawing program that brings the best of Blender, FreeCAD and Sketchup into one program. This course put into perspective what several YouTube videos tried and failed to do. Great job. I'm quickly becoming a fan boy :-D

This is a good conceptual tool. I understand this is for Artist, designers, and modelers. Even these users need to incorporate other toolsets. However, I would like to see how you could use it for baby engineering, Ie: Shelling Components/Hollow/thicken, simple measurements, assemblies, surfacing/skinning, etc. There is a lot more to this software which I felt the instructor isn't aware how to use properly or chose to not share maybe due to experience. You can find these other topics on YT.

Arrimus is a proven 3D teacher for years but this course could be better. Some videos do not have explanation, which are important to reinforce ideas and to prevent them from becoming boring to watch, Besides that, I missed advanced projects with curves from blueprints like a specific car or tank etc... But the course is constantly being updated. It's possible that in the near future, I will come here and reevaluate it."

Wow this is a LOT more than I expected. There is so much content and it is really well paced and narrated. For the value, I cannot think of a reason to not snatch this up immediately if you are even considering getting into CAD / Plasticity.

Woah, that's like.. A LOT of different buttons to press. I was hoping that the course would introduce them significantly more slowly as we'd create more and more complex structures. This felt like going through a list of all the most important commands, which I can appreciate, but frankly I'm a bit intimidated. Am I supposed to remember all of these right here right now?

Easily the worst course I’ve done on Udemy. The instructor just plays around on screen without explaining things. Would not recommend to anyone, ever.

Arrimus has a lot to teach here and the amount of knowledge he has is impressive. A learner may complain that he don't spend a lot of time on very basic functions, so you have to do some research on your own, but thats ok for me, there is no perfect course. Buy without regret.

The instructor does not teach at all. He is simply randomly playing with Plasticity. You learn absolutely nothing.

Loved the explainer of mapping key-board commands! Great intro, definitely worth following along for the full hour! I had 10hrs logged in other tutorials before starting this session, so I was already familiar with basics of navigation and commands... but this went into more detail on these topics, furthering my understanding, which is exactly what I was hoping this course would do! I'm hoping later sessions will cover construction planes and Boolean commands in more depth?

As with many instructors, they always seem to assume that no one is a true beginner. As such, they skip many, many little steps or move too fast. A beginner is exactly that: a beginner. Don't assume we know your every key stroke, and that we can connect the dots as you fly through something. So, if the first thing is the line tool, then teach the line tool. Don't assume we know it, and then start clicking all over the screen without the walk through. Not everything is evident. Some people come from Max, Maya or Blender- some people do not. I come from Max but there are times when I still got lost watching this. We come to learn and we pay to learn, so please do not assume we come here already knowing the software you are teaching.

I've only gone thru Part 2. It was 38 minutes and Arrimus was just zipping through it so fast, assuming I know how to use Plasticity. I bought this to learn it, so do not assume we know this stuff. All these hotkeys and what not, I was just lost. I hope it gets better with more concise and better explanation. This is not a race. Thank you.

It hurts my engineering mind a bit :) It might be suitable as a product demonstration but lacks a detailed explanation. It's not that bad, however, I expected less improvisation, a better framework and cleaner geometry. My opinion is heavily biased and some of you may find the class useful.

Started strong but then shifts to mostly watching the instructor tinker with his design. Fun to watch, but not very educational.

Basics of typical CAD-type modeling, but using this program. Very glad that I had experience with Fusion 360 prior to using because a lot of concepts were more of a "refresher course". Stopped and watched a bit before practicing on my own, and that helped a lot because there were a few things I missed when trying to follow along at the same time. Excited for the rest of the classes!
