Why take this course?

This course is designed to teach you how to use Photopea, a free browser based photo editing software. The course is created on an Apple computer, however most functions are identical on as those on a PC or Chromebook. The most notable difference are the key commands which I will make note of while working.

I will teach you techniques that I have learned over the years while working as a professional graphic artist. Photopea is a surprisingly robust free software that has a remarkably similar set of tools and interface to industry leading software. The focus is on the essential tools you need to learn to edit and manipulate photographs on a professional level. My goal is to teach you the basics and teach you to do them well.

You will learn about Layers and how to use them effectively, you’ll learn to work non-destructively, you’ll learn to make clean selections as well as how to color correct your images.

Even if you have access to other software, Photopea can help in a pinch, while on the road or away from you computer, because all you need to do it upload your photo to the web and start editing.

I would say this course is really really good for someone who is getting into the world of photoediting or using photopea in general. If you are someone who has a good understanding of Adobe Photoshop or photo editing in general or if you want to learn the nitty-gritty of some powerful features such as curves, levels, hue/saturation, this is not the course for you.

Aaron goes into the details and the nittie-gritties in a slow nuanced manner. One may find that the level of detailing he goes into is not necessary but users are adviced of the precise tools and even shortcuts in these long sessions. I have been using Photopea for a few months now as my go to tool to edit and crop. Thanks to Aaron, I am empowered to do more with the tool.
