Until now, I have acquired something new. They are intersting however, I have no opportunities now to practise due to the COVID 19 situation.
The material and videos are great, but I think "life examples" are missing. Bottom-line, this course gave me the basic information that I needed. Thank you.
I think examples of live pitch videos posted from students taking this course would be super engaging for the audience to want to actually share there own pitch videos. Everyone has a different type of learning style so incorporating visual examples, clipping Shark Tank episodes and overall more engagement with the students would give this course a step up! I've beeen able to learn that consistency is key and you don't have to successfully persuade everyone but the overall process of persuasion is a great learning process. I also learnt that you become better by looking for more opportunities to give presentations , pitches and much more.
Sometimes you just need to be reminded of things you know, but got lost somewhere in the ether of your mind. Have these things broken down into chewable pieces, so that you can see how they apply to your current position. Then reevaluate your current position and apply your refined skills to move forward. That's what the start of this course taught me.
The course helps to improve your speech, your presentation and approach in order to be more effective, interesting, direct and persuasive. Through common sense lessons T.J Walker teaches you how to deal with major mistakes in a presentation and speech. You will realize very quickly what you are doing wrong and I'll be able to correct by yourself. As improvement I would like at the end of the course a PDF to resume the key points discussed during the course. Some authors take this care and find it extremely useful.
Overall, I think the course is excellent and is full of great ideas. I've already tried some of the suggestions so I can create a better, more persuasive presentation. My one suggestion would be to add more examples or stories about the different topics. The examples could be good, which led to a successful presentation, or funny/ bad and how to avoid a similar situation.
This course is short and sweet, knowing it has roughly one hour duration I believe it covers the important things and provides important guidelines.
TJ Walker is an excellent instructer, which he proves again in this video. I do believe it's important to do the excersizes he recommends (and yes, I know I haven't uploaded my video yet, but to be fair I listen to these while on the job). But the chance at feedback, and honest feedback at that, is very valuable. If you have a bit of spare time, practice on video and put TJ Walker's words into practice. Only good things can come of it.
Never to be discouraged by becoming emotional that you were not able to persuade someone. Just keep trying. Sometime you win and other time you won't. By practicing and improving, you will become better. Better at controlling yourself, better at understanding what others might be trying to tell you and hence also becoming a good listener. Simple and focused course, well directed videos. Not too long and not too short.
