This course used to be good when I did it six years back. But time has moved on, and as this course is pretty much based on product demonstrations, it is simply outdated. Some products changed slightly only, but some a lot (Jing is now Camtasia Capture and has now far less to offer). The Youtube filter clea.nr has disappeared. So this course should either be updated (would be great) or removed. In general I like the format of the course with short videos going through the basics of each application.

A lot of this information is now dated. There are a few things that he mentioned that are no longer available.

I learned how to set up a youtube account and manage a youtube account. I feel managing a youtube account would be more useful after learning how to make videos and how to upload them to youtube. None of the information is new to me. It does apply to flipping a classroom, though, so I guess it should be included.

I learned how valuable videos can be in the classroom. There are many ways videos can be used in the classroom. I learned how to share videos in the classroom.

Some of the content is outdated, e.g. the annotations for YouTube videos is not available since 2015 - it is nearly 2018 already. I do understand that things change quickly, but up to now, none of the interfaces (?) images displayed in the videos looks the same anymore. The course needs to be update annually before releasing or advertising it. However, I do learn new things, but if I were to pay for this course (thanks for making it free), I would have been seriously upset by the outdated content. Consider using only free platforms / OERs. The section on TED.Ed and the lessons were incredibly interesting and exciting. Thank you!!!!!!

Good course. It focuses a lot about how to create videos, than how to use them. Nontheless, a great course.

The course consists of very useful lectures on how to use different video tools for lecture recording. Thank you for introducing me to TedEd. That is a very unique feature that TedEd has to allow user to create a lesson within the learning environment.

Brian is an excellent instructor. Topic covered in detail, summarized at the end of the lesson. Shows direct comparison of Youtube and vimeo so far. Very good instruction. My only concern is outdated material. This stuff changes so fast. But I will check for changes when I get in to it. So considering it an excellent foundation or start.

I am 60. I started making videos with this course when I was 56. This is the second time I take the course because I had forgotten how to do some things. Thank you so much to this young and wonderful teacher. He really has the gift to communicate in a simple and fast way! I will look for more of his courses!

I have worked with a number of educators who want to use video with students but struggle to really make a start. The best part about this course is how Brian shows real examples of his flipped classroom and looks at a number of different applications for using video with students. The course covers a number of great tools but always ties them back to student engagement and learning. Thoroughly enjoyed!
