What you will learn

An Understanding of BMP (Beats Per Minute)

Create Boom bap style drum patterns with ease. Great knowledge to implement on old school type instrumentals

Produce aggressive trap drums patterns for all your trappish lifestyle needs

Compose smooth soulful drum patterns with simplicity. For getting that J-dilla beat feel

Sample and Looped Drum Manipulation trick for getting an original sound out of your production

Basic/Intermediate Sound Engineering, that will improve the way you produced music

Why take this course?

Learn to easily create 3 styles of professional hip hop drum patterns for your instrumentals, all within using your Native Instruments Maschine software alone.

I've know known many people who struggled to create a decent sounding track, not because their notes were off or out of tuned, but for the fact that the drums patterns could not hold up to the standards of the rest of their work. This course was made to show how to easily create drum patterns without much effort but still getting a professional sound that will enhance the production as a whole

We are going to use plugins such as reverb, delay, and drive which are all stock plugins within Maschine, no need to buy 3rd party products to get a great sound!

I'm going to teach you how to use what you already have to get a dope industry sound.

I will not be using the native instruments maschine hardware controller for this course. This was done to help students with a malfunctioning, stolen or broken maschine controller, so they can be able to learn the inside software and still create music easily as if they had the controller all along with their production process.

Technique is subpar with some antipatterns, the examples of switching the sound feel with different drum loops is fun though. thanks!

Well done Kevin, great course !!

The course was somewhat misleading. I'm always open to learning about my hardware (Maschine) but it really was a 'software' based course and certainly did not focus on the 'hardware' use at all. I suppose I assumed but 'software' use of Maschine is definitely mouse/click based and that threw me for a bit until I finally figured our (half-way through the course) that the production style was limited solely to 'software' presentation - not hardware (actual Maschine) use. Yet, I learned something new from his course that I appreciated: it's much easier to lay hi-hats with the painter tool as well as manipulating the '808' through the software. I appreciate the Instructor for this tip that I've always done manually (hardware). My last bit of advice? Presentation. It is HUGE. I'm a high school Teacher and I literally practice/rehearse my lessons before I teach them. If I were clueless - I'd still be clueless - but confidently. The stammering and "ummm - uhh - ok..." were distracting along with the random style of production without much linear instruction but I can admit - I like an organized road map to where I'm headed and feel like it's the Instructor's job to get me there - confidently. There are various learner types and each style: aural (listeners), visual (video) and kinesthetic (doers) should be incorporated in a teaching session/environment. I just felt like if I'm going to pay $$$ for a course, at least cover all learning styles or make the one (or two) used so excellent that I could do without whichever was omitted. 'Average' course presentation when compared to the others that I've purchased here but keep doing what you're doing bro - you have good ideas that were helpful. Practice your presentation with a structured, linear production (w/ application) - and hopefully - your course begin to feel more 'delivery' prepared.

Although, the presenter needs to alliterate concepts and direction more clearly to 'teach' the viewer (rather than convey thoughts and specifics via urban 'music feel' jargon) I was entertained by some of the subtle nuances to getting that 'boom bap' subtlety down pat. Sadly, there is a clear gap between understanding what the actual knobs and short-cuts identified in the Maschine software 'really do' vs. what the Learner is able to absorb based on the lesson, its content, and the presenter's skill to convey these concepts. Looking forward to seeing better presentations in the future!

I enjoyed the Boom Bap drum part as i struggle trying to get that down. He also wet out of his way to show you how to create that haunting sound instrument sound that he used throughout.

Straight to the point. He also teaches you how to manipulate the sounds. I'm not even done with the course but it will save me a lot time and really excited to get back on my Maschine and apply what I've learned.
