The best part of this course was showing in a real track how to layer drums and hi-hats. What I think could have been improved is more explanation on "what" the various filters you used to do and why a producer might want to consider tweaking. I do like the fact that you don't spend a ton of time talking while the software screenshot just sits there. What you do great is SHOWING us and providing some comments about what you are doing. I think if you added a video to this class that just walked through the various knobs on the FX tabs and the sample editor (like video 2) would really improve this class.

This is watching someone work, which is not training or teaching - using half paid and half free loops means we can't play/learn along with our "Teacher", a poor course.

I am brand new on Maschine, actually brand new on any type of pad controller. I realize you focused on the software and not the hardware, and I thought that would be okay. But, even with that, there were many, many times, when you were tweaking knobs, adjusting parameters, with no explanation of what you were doing. It was impossible for me to work along with you. If you had provided the samples that you used along with the course, that may have helped. It would have been better had you just used factory provided samples that every Maschine useful would have. But really, it just need much more explanation of each step. I don't really feel any more capable with the software than before I watched the course. I am not much farther along than I was before I started. I appreciate your efforts. I can tell you have a great deal of ability. It just did not get conveyed in a manner that was useful to me.

Il n'y a rien de pédagogique, c'est comme si je regardais une vidéo youtube d'une personne qui compose un son

This is only about basic knowledge. The course is probably made for people who want to see what you can do with the machine. I would have liked to delve deeper into the topics.

I bought this course by accident. There was another one I thought I was buying that's 3.5 hours long. I'm 1/3 of the way through this and I haven't learned anything. Don't waste your time.

I genuinely enjoyed this course and learned a lot. Kasle's a really good and knowledgeable instructor -- you'll likely feel as though you're sitting alongside an accomplished friend, getting a one-on-one tutorial on his secret techniques. It's easy to follow and I believe anyone of beginner to intermediate level will get something out of this. Even professional composers/producers who have struggled with keeping life in their mixes once more layers are added will get something out of this (that's my personal experience). Even though the video content is only one-hour in length, it's not necessarily a bad thing. Every lecture is packed with useful information on just about every aspect of beat creation, from concept and arrangement (of the beat itself) to the basics of a strong, fat, professional-sounding mix. I really appreciated Kasle's clarity in presentation and his obvious enthusiasm for sharing this knowledge. Both the video and the audio are clear and professionally done. It's easy to see and hear everything. The course walks you through (basically in real time) the full production of a beat in one hour. Building rhythms, manipulating samples, adding textures, basic sequencing, and layering for a full and rich sound. In a real sense, he's teaching you the basics of arrangement and giving your instruments pockets in which to breathe... which tends to make for a better mix. I felt that the majority of the information gained is transferable and useful to productions even outside of Maschine and to other styles of music. This includes writer/producers who will be incorporating Maschine output into DAWs to work with larger arrangements / full songs and scores. This course is also a good hands-on introduction to the Maschine software. Its features, the interface, and how to do some common tasks with it in order to achieve good tracks. I'm also using the hardware -- it's not covered here and Kasle makes clear that this is a software only tutorial for people who either don't want to use the hardware or can't due to loss or malfunction -- but have found plenty of useful information here that can be applied to the hardware as well. I feel this is a really valuable course that gets right into the meat of a project -- pretty much all of what you'd want/need to know (plus some other great tricks), without a whole lot of content that you could learn elsewhere. Kasle's given me hope that, in Maschine (and this course), I may have found something that really speaks to my creativity and workflow... to finally achieve a sound that truly jumps out of the monitors without spending what I've historically spent on new gear, software, and engineers. Even if there's cases where those things are needed in the future, I feel that what I've learned in Kasle's course will save me a lot of time, money, and frustration.
