SOME OF THE CHALLENGES WITH TRYING TO TAKE AN IDEA FROM CONCEPT TO MARKET

Description

INSIGHTS & CHALLENGES WITH BRINGING A NEW PRODUCT TO MARKET - Over the years I’ve had numerous students come to me & want to talk about a new product idea they have but aren't sure how to get started. Now instead of giving you a classroom lecture on product development and the steps involved, I'm going to share with you a personal experience, probably with more examples of what not to do than what to do.

I would say this course was a good match for me. The story that was being told as the course progressed was interesting and full of good website recommendations and pieces of general business advice, especially for businesses that engage in engineering from a small business' point-of-view. What I felt could have been improved upon, though, was the second section of the course. To me, it appeared that the second section was unusually short in its length because it does not go into as much detail as I thought it would on the basics of how the course's recommended software, Solid Edge 2021, actually works, or how the course's instructor used it to designed his old products. If some practice Solid Edge files and video tutorials were added to the second section so that new students like myself can gain first hand experience on the design and engineering dos-and-don'ts that this course alluded to, then I think that it would go a long way towards encouraging newcomers to pursue their ideas in practical, strategic ways.

The instructor's unique explanation style through 'show and tell' effectively engages the viewer. Having a real life project as an example to explain the concepts and the underlying process involved in developing a product helps in better understanding.

Great course on prototyping, business operations, and getting started. A must watch for aspiring product-based entrepreneurs.

Love it... between the lines I can see myself and all the failures. I love all the valuable lesson in the presentation.
