This course will make the student efficient, valuable and an asset in a Networking environment

Description

This course will cover all aspects of IPv4. Students will learn IP addressing, Subnetting, VLSM, Route Summarization, Wildcard Masking, common Network equipment, basic Router administrative commands, configuring Router interfaces, planning a Network infrastructure and many other topics that are important and needed, not just for certification purposes, but also for real world scenarios.

The course will also show students how to assign IP addresses to PC’s and Routers. As well as gaining an understanding of the TCP/IP properties such as gateways.

DISCLAIMER:   Please note that the simulators/emulators used in this course are not part of the course. It is the students responsibility to have these to practice with. The Cisco Packet Tracer and/or VIRAL (Virtual Internet Routing Lab) are Cisco proprietary software and can only be obtained through Cisco. It is up to each student to obtain the simulator/emulator of their choice to study along with this course. Students have other options like GNS3, BOSOM or Live Equipment.

This is a lecture based course using hands on labs. My method will make you feel like you are sitting in a classroom environment and give you some hands on experience.

Handouts and labs will be available to facilitate learning and practice.

My IPv4 course will help you in becoming comfortable with, not only with the IPv4 protocol, but it will also help you in preparing for any networking certification and Computer Science Degree; not to mention the fact, that for those that are going for a Cisco certification exam, it will help you in calculating IP addresses without a calculator, since a calculator is NOT allowed in a testing site.. This method should expedite the way you convert in order to make you faster, better and stronger to pass the test!

Please be aware that I have authored a book on IPv4 that is available on AMAZON called "The Only IP Book You Will Ever Need!". For those interested, this book along with this course, will help you achieve a greater understanding of this still relevant protocol.

(Please always check the ANNOUNCEMENTS section for new updates and events, since I am always letting you guys know of my newest and latest endeavors).

See you in the course!

My Only problem as I am a teacher is that Laz stands in the middle of the board most teachers stand left or right so to see the information. LOL But I enjoyed the course.

Lazaro Diaz teaches on a different level, he's incredibly engaging. We're all human and we tend to day dream when watching lesson videos, but Laz holds your focus the whole time. Then you add his method of teaching to the mix and it makes for a well rounded course, after awhile you even forget you're viewing him through your monitor and not in person. Yea, money well spent.

Mr. Diaz is a very talented teacher, I appreciate that he does not speak over the listeners head and over complicate things. I think a quote best sums up my experience thus far, "if you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough." - Albert Einstein When I'm done with all the training I'm striving for I do not want to know enough to pass the tests and forget it. I want to KNOW this material like the back of my hand. I appreciate how Laz Diaz teaches and understands the material.

I've just finished the Basic Router Configuration portion and Laz configured the router too fast without proper explanations(in my opinion). And above that, Some of Laz's math was wrong at an earlier section. Class A 2^(32-8)-2=16,777,214 - Correct Class B 2^(32-16)-2=65,536 - Wrong(actually 65,534). Laz haven't took into consideration the Network Name and Broadcast addresses. Class C 2^(32-24)-2=254 - Correct

Good course altought some stuff is not througly explained and sometimes hard to understand pronunciation. Needs more balance on the time he takes explaining things because some things have more explanation than necessary and some others are seen as if you should already know about them

Content is very good but the smoke detector beeping in the background of some videos is really off putting.

Great Class, And I learned a lot. Only small critique is there are a few errors that happen while the lecture is going that do not get addressed or noticed by Laz. Otherwise, excellent, fun, and engaging Lesson!

Good teacher, explain so that you understand. Share their experiences. Educational and also fun, Laz does so that you follow every part of the course and the most important one does not fall asleep during the course. As you often do when the teacher is poor at learning.

Laz was very good at explaining hard examples in easy to understand words. He did show how to work through problems and how to come up with the conclusions. I would like to see more difficult examples so we can see a range of problems and comprehend the logic to get to those solutions. Laz also has some arithmetic mistakes he did correct at the end of the problem. I would like to see some quizzes or a problem worksheet with solutions to enforce what I learned. Overall, he is a great professor and I always learned from Laz' courses.
