The course only focuses on selecting buttons, the explanation is quite intuitive, anyone with the device in hand could select the buttons and see what happens. There is no real explanation for the differences in the selections presented. The models shown are old and outdated, the video quality is bad and the audio is bad.

I believe that this course will help me gain a better understanding of how to use a hand-held GPS device.

The music is a huge distraction. As are the "special" effects at the start. Tone these down to give greater focus on the subject in hand please. (That was a first impression but as I went on, this was only the tip of the iceberg sadly). In addition, this is less a course & more a demo as the instructor shows off his shortcuts, which by the way you're told to get from the store halfway through the "lesson". (What about how to perform that function without the shortcut? I use those buttons for other things). This is a very poorly asembled bunch of chats, seems to follow no real lesson plans & is NOT good value for money. Being good at using something on your work doesn't make you an instructor, tutor or coach. They are very different capabilities & I'm afraid this is not a good course. Look around at what/how courses with better scores/ratings provide. That way you'll get some tips on how to improve your delivery. I had really been looking forward to this course, to improving my GPS capabilities & to be able to demonstrate good techniques to the youth organisations I instruct to. I was very disappointed in what I found. I'll be looking for a refund & will not be looking to purchase any further courses from this instructor.

Sorry to be critical but this was so slow and dwelt for ages on small points that were not really that useful. It then ran through other things and skimmed the surface of basecamp, telling me very little detail. I had 5% knowledge before I started and feel that I have about 25% knowledge having finished. I was hoping for much more. It has given me a foundation but I still feel like I know very little. The presentation is also a little lethargic and I had to rewind many times as I found myself drifting off.

This is a great course if you're interested in GPS devices and how to get the most out of them. He goes through set up, features, uses as well as basecamp, google earth and other outside software. Even if you don't have the device he uses for demonstration all Garmin devices have essentially the same features, they just use different buttons to get there. I learned a ton, and am amazed at how much Garmin devices are capable of. This is just what I was looking for, take this and feel confident when navigating on the trail with a GPS device.

Really outdated and not engaging at all. I want to be constructive because is it a lot of work to put this online, but sometimes it was just a description of the features, not nothing really new. The GPS units except for the Montana, are also outdated. Really sorry but did not learn much.

I like the energy and delivery of the course content. Information is broken down nicely in consumable chunks. The only think I have to suggest is the word display on the screens at times doesn't match what is being said. May want to tweak that.

Good explanation of all the GPS units. I have the Garmin etrex 30, looking forward to learning how to use it
