What you will learn

Native American Mindfulness Counseling

Making sense of the inner voices.

Why take this course?

The Native Strength path is a centuries-old philosophy that uses medicine wheels to make sense of our world. Native American religion and culture were illegal in the United States until 1978. These teachings were part of that culture. You'll be introduced to the inner personas and the fear-feeders along with ways to help differentiate between the two.  When we learn how to listen to our inner elders and children more, the fear-feeders can't be heard. Our apprehension often holds us back from fulfilling our dreams. It's easy to imagine all of the things that can go wrong and talk ourselves out of just about anything. Once we recognize these voices of fear, they begin to develop sly ways of sneaking their toxic messages into our inner dialogue. It takes some practice to weed them out at this point and that's what this course can do for you.  We will examine the medicine wheel of fear-feeder voices that shows us the manipulative and creative ways they try to stop us from finding success and happiness. This course will help you to hear the voices of your inner elders clearer, filling you full of self-esteem and the inspiration you need to find success.

Learn how to help yourself and others with these traditional techniques.

The story telling is beautiful in this course, it goes to show how wise the Native American were and are.

Being of indigenous descent and not learning any of this growing up, I appreciate this course being available so that not only may I learn these things but that I may also teach them to my own children who are still young. Thank you for sharing this information in an easily digestible format.

So, I facilitate Native American Wellbriety groups and the information in this is highly inaccurate, there is no real education happening. It is really a waste of time and money. Im hoping for that 30 days money back guarentee which saddens me because i do enjoy other courses on here but this is straight garbage

Very interesting and useful information for personal growth. Look forward to other classes on 3 Circle of Life Experience and Blame-Shame-Guilt.

A couple of places the text/presentation was confusing: 1) the text for NE Wheel of Life looked same as for NW, 2) step 4 in the 10 steps of Assuming Self-Authority was omitted in both text and presentation.

This course is for psychologists, social workers, clergy, or other persons in the helping professions who engage in counseling using a number of different methods or points-of-view. It opened to me an entirely new structure, one that is much more detailed than the Myers-Briggs or the Enneagram; much more complex. The teacher maps these Native American elements in series of circles all of which can initially cause confusion. But she is a remarkable teacher and, with some focus (her quizzes, which I first found a bit silly, actually helped me to achieve focus) I was able to grasp this ancient way of approaching human thoughts, feelings, and behavior. It has given me an entirely fresh tool-kit, one that will be of straightforward benefit to many of the people with whom I work.

I am absorbing all I can during the first run through the course, but plan on going back through so I can then act on what I I couldn't grasp initially. I am very pleased to know that, while I have helped identify the areas I need to improve on at all levels, I have also identified areas on each level that I am doing correctly. The key to my success is learning the wheels so I can know where I am and how to get to where I need to be.

Yes. Hyapatia is a good instructor. She puts forth deep ideas in an easy to absorb manner. She draws you in and holds your attention. This is a great addition to the curriculum and gives different insights for counselors to approach their clients needs.
