Why take this course?

In this course, about the Modbusprotocol, we begin with the history of the Modbus.

You also get to know the data model of Modbus, in the other lections of this course,. This is explained on the basis of practical examples.

One of the bases to the understanding of the Modbus of protocol are the so-called Function codes and their use. Hence, we devote ourselves to this in a special section and get to know together the most important Function codes in their full extent. We will understand what is a Request and a Response and how this is built up.

Also, the construction of a cross communication is explained in Modbus and how the client / server model works. Building up on this knowledge the difference between Modbus RS485 and Modbus Ethernet is explained.

We will end the course, by seeing the learned theory in practical examples.

The course subject is interesting, however just reading slides makes it a bit boring. It would be nice to have some videos with a real PLC wired to a coupler, or a servo-motor, seeing the code being written in the PLC, etc. It would be a bit livelier. I did learn some important things about Modbus communication, so thank you.

Very helpful information, examples and explanations. A little repetitive with the function code requests and responses towards the beginning, but probably helpful in solidifying the information.

Nice short course to get the basics of Modbus communication. I skipped a few parts but got what I need.

Positive: 1) Excellent presentation clear audio and matching slides. 2) Very well presented beginner level course and overview of Modbus communication. 3) Very well spoken, with clearly spoken English, which is refreshing because his dialog is easy to follow and understand. Negative: 1) It appears that the instructor refers to lectures as lections. 2) It appears that there were some slides that were incorrect, even though the audio was correct however. This can be seen in the end of lecture #37.

Good course. Detailed explanations of Function Codes and Error Codes. Maybe just a bit too much repetition. And some spelling and translation errors on several slides.
