Why take this course?

Mobile devices are now used for everything from banking to gaming – so user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design has never been more important. If a website is difficult to navigate or the layout of an app is confusing, users will be gone in seconds. An in-depth understanding of mobile UI/UX design is critical for good mobile usability, for keeping your users engaged, and for ensuring your product stays relevant.

Make your Mobile UI Design Pop

  • Understand the basics of UI/UX mobile application design
  • Learn each step of the design process from planning to project completion
  • Gain an insight into current mobile UI/UX design trends and developments
  • Develop key skills to plan, manage and develop mobile usability

Understand the Mobile UX Design Process

While UI and UX design are often bundled together as one, they are in fact two separate disciplines. UI design is centered on layout and the fine detail of how the user interacts with the product (i.e a slide vs. a simple tap on an app). UX design however is about the overall experience, the look and feel of the product, and how the user navigates through it from start to finish. Despite their differences the two go hand-in-hand, and an understanding of both is essential for seamless mobile usability. In short, mobile UI/UX design is one of the most important elements of any digital project.

Course Overview

This course covers all aspects of the mobile UI/UX design process from start to finish, with graphic designers, stakeholders, designers from non-tech backgrounds, and developers in mind. If you need a crash course in mobile UI/UX design, you've come to the right place.

The course is divided into six sections, with each section focusing on key 'design deliverables'. You will explore each phase of the design process, starting with requirements assessment and design project planning, to user experience recommendations and user interface design and documentation, to design implementation guidelines and management.

Along the way you'll pick up all of the technical terminology involved, learn about current design trends and the latest developments in the ever changing world of mobile usability, and discover some expert tips to make your project a resounding success. Recommended exercises are presented at the end of each section so you can put your knowledge to practical use.

At the end of the course, you will be equipped with all the skills needed to oversee a mobile application's experience and interface design, from the planning stages right up to the finished product.

Hamburger menu, for example, is somehow "deprecated" and a lot of new applications, are not using it any more. I am afraid of next content

This was a great supplement to my masters program in human centered design and engineering. I found necessary practical information and details in this class.

Great overall introduction to mobile UX/UI. Would´ve given 5 stars if the course included some basic template documents (like requirements gathering) for the different processes.

O conteúdo é ótimo, mas senti falta de exemplos visuais. A maioria dos slides é bem pobre, só texto. Mas, reiterando, o conteúdo é muito bom.

The content is good, but the form is too heavy and too boring. It is too hard keep focus. Needs much more visual support, at least the instructor should film herself just to put more life into her course. It could, actually it should get more visual support, like sketchs, more examples, it could be nice to see a fictive project that the instructor shows us from scratch and through the process.

It is a nice course. I am not giving a higher score because lack some graphical/visual explanations, quizzes to evaluate your knowledge and extra contents.

This course provides value and meaningful material. If three is average this course is slightly above that. Not mind blowing, but worth the price and time it takes to complete. I'm glad that this course exists.

I thought it was pretty good but not quite perfect. I just gave it a once over so I could design a hybrid mobile app for a college course. I will use it as reference when needed. thanks, John Stokes

The instructor is clear about the course content and conveys the lessons in a way that practically anyone can understand. I would definitely recommend this course to others.

It covers all aspects of the creation of an app, trends, tools, definitions etc. I would have enjoyed more graphic examples instead of vocal description of elements and styles.

Not enough explanations. Only screens with subtitles. Was few examples how to work, but very rapid. May be for this price it's ok but I was expecting for more information with examples of documentations and so on and so on. May be this course is only for novices.

This is a good overview of the process, but is a bit dry. The slides are mostly text outlines and summary statements. While the content was insightful and helpful, it would have been more engaging if there were more visual examples shown of the things being discussed, such as semantic UI elements or particular UX documentation and deliverables. Also, I had to watch this at 1.5 speed as the instructor's pace was way too slow to keep my attention.
