MO-201 MOS Expert Excel 2019 exam

Alright, but could have tackled more challenging problems. Overly simplified compared to the MOS Study Guide

This course is the right match for me so far. I hope it continues to meet and exceed my expectations. So far, the instructor is superb.

Not through the whole course yet, but I'm learning fast, and will hopefully be prepared for the exam by the time I'm done with this course.

The practice examples are exactly the kinds of questions formatted on the exam. Review them multiple times over and you should be able to pass. I will say that there was a question on the exam about how to consolidate which I don't believe was covered on the course. It's in the requirement sheet so make sure you know how to do that one!

I chose 5 of the MO-courses here, but I think except Excel Expert course, the others are all wonderful! This excel expert course didn't cover all of the exam points and final practice were copied from previous examples, not very good, so I will give 3 stars only for this course only.

I purchased this course mainly for the practice exams having already taken a different MO-201 Prep course through Maven Analytics. Unfortunately, the tests seem very Frankensteined with questions that are not always clear, files that have some tasks already completed, asking for formulas to be placed in an obscure cell reference that doesn't correlate to what's being calculated, and tasks that would likely never happen in a real-world scenario (like adding data validation to input a number 1-10 on cells that are formula based and would never need a data validation for an input). The answer videos were also vague at times where the instructor goes over the answer but isn't very specific when it comes to do's/dont's on the test, like if it only asks for the calculation to be done in one specific cell, don't fill in the rest of the columns etc. I also found the use of the Insert Function/Formula Finder to be odd given this is supposed to be an expert level course. Shouldn't we know and understand the formulas and be able to type them in as an excel expert? I mean, maybe as a last resort or a quick tip if you get stumped on a formula, but to use it so regularly seems novice. I was also unimpressed with the lack of use of shortcuts like going to View > Macros > Record Macro vs clicking on the icon in the lower left hand corner of the screen to start recording a Macro. This exam is built for speed and these types of shortcuts could mean the difference between pass or fail IMO. Lastly, seeing as the official MO-201 Objective Domains list out just under 50 topics, it seems short sided to think that learning the less than 1/2 of the cherry picked topics will ensure a passing grade on this exam. Sorry for the harsh feedback. I DO walk away from this course feeling more like an Excel Expert, but not for the reasons I had hoped when purchasing this course :(

Mike will prepare you well for the exams that he teaches. But in this case, his course alone won't cover you, you'll also have to rely on your own experience and if you took some other Excel courses not specific for this exam but just to build your expertise, for example courses on Pivot Tables/Charts and the lookup functions. I rarely use VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP() at work so I needed a refresher on the subject of lookup functions. Just one phrase that the instructor said was enough to make lookups click. And yes, I passed the exam, strong 880 out of 1000.

The videos are good, and the teacher is clear, but I would have expected more complex examples for advanced formulas and more practice exam videos. If the course will be updated, I will gladly change the review.

It is an amazing overview of the exam, providing us clarity on how the exam can be and how we can better prepare ourselves.

Super straightforward explanations that are easy to follow and apply. Info is clear and concise. An enjoyable, practical course!

The XLS file available for download, so that we can exercise, already has the tasks completed. The same happened in the course "Microsoft Word 2019 (MO 100) Study Guide to 1000 points" that I acquired.

I felt like the course was rushed and underprepared in several sections. For example, projects that have steps that are already completed, worksheets with the wrong name, etc. However, my biggest problem is the content that certain content in the practice exam is not covered elsewhere. This includes several PivotTable functions. The PivotTable section should be more developed. I would not say the course is disappointing, I just think it could be significantly better.

Teacher did excellent job of making material understandable and hopefully the knowledge will stick when I take the exam!

the video is good, quite clear, but I think Michael must update those example files and practice files, I can see some students already ask him to correct those issues (one year ago) but up to now it seems no update.

Some exercise are not in the correct way, for exemple in: Data, Sutotals it´s to made all in at one time not in two times. In the task 5 of the Availibity worksheet is to modify the conditional formatting, not to delete and make a new one. In Employee Information we can use this =IF(C8<>"Full-time";"Yes";"No"), we don't need OR logical function, don't say to use and logical function. but it's an excellent course, please continue. Thanks
